If this is your case and you want to spend the minimum necessary money but be able to work decently, in this article we are going to propose a cheap AMD PC configuration so that you do not have to spend extra money.
The premise for this hardware configuration is to choose AMD hardware spending the minimum money necessary, but maintaining a decent level of quality and so that the team delivers decent performance to be able to work. Obviously, it depends on the type of job you have, you may need something more powerful or something more basic, so you should not take this literally if you do not want, just as a guide to buy a cheap AMD PC to be able to work.
Setting Up Cheap AMD PCs to Work From Home
We are going to list the hardware for this PC, based on the premises that we have exposed before.
Processor: AMD Athlon 3000G
This processor offers us two cores and four process threads at a speed of 3.5 GHz and with a TDP of only 35 watts, more than enough to perform basic office tasks, Internet browsing and even multimedia, such as Photoshop or visualization of contents. It also incorporates an integrated graphics Radeon Vega 3 with three cores that supports high resolutions, and if we are not going to play, again it is worth us for what we are looking for.
In this case and given that we are looking for the lowest price, coupled with the fact that the processor has a TDP of only 35 watts, we will settle for the heatsink that the processor includes from stock.
Motherboard: ASUS Prime A320M-K
This motherboard in mATX format will give us all the connectivity and compatibility we need for this AMD PC at a low cost. In addition, for the future we could install more RAM and / or faster memory, an SSD in M.2 format or a dedicated graphic without problems.
RAM Memory: Crucial CT8G4DFS824A
As for RAM, we selected these Crucial 2400 Mhz DDR4 modules that come without even a heatsink, but don’t need it either. They are 4 GB modules so we should include two of them to have 8 GB working in dual channel and thus have better performance. With 4 GB we would have “enough” but it would not be optimal if we want to have a good performance on the computer.
Storage: SanDisk SSD Plus 240GB
We can’t talk about “decent performance” no matter how much we look for a cheap PC without including an SSD, so in this case we opted for this SanDisk model that offers speeds of up to 535 MB / s read and 445 MB / s write with a capacity of 240 GB. Of course, if necessary this model is available in capacities of up to 2 TB, but logically the price would go up quite a bit.
Box and power supply: L-link Leonis
Unfortunately, this is the part of this AMD PC that we are going to skimp on quality to save quite a bit of money for. Since the equipment is low consumption and does not even have a dedicated graphic, the 500W OEM power supply that this box incorporates will be good for the configuration, and since the box is micro ATX it is perfect for the motherboard that we have chosen. In addition, it will provide the team with USB 3.0 connectivity that is always appreciated.
How much does this AMD PC cost in total?
Prices fluctuate daily, but even so with this configuration that we suggest you would spend about 230 euros approximately, although you should bear in mind that this price does not include the assembly of the components or the operating system, which you would have to acquire on your own. Monitor for this AMD PC: Philips 223V5LSB2 / 10
This monitor is 22 inches in size, and we can’t settle for less than Full HD resolution today. Since we are configuring an AMD PC to work from home, we believe that it is also optimal to have technologies for eye protection, and this includes Flicker Free.
Peripherals: Logitech MK120 Combo
This is a cheap and proven USB keyboard and mouse kit, ideal for use on this PC for work. Of course it is in Spanish (includes ñ) and with QWERTY provision.
Likewise, to work from home you will need headphones with a microphone, so we suggest this fairly cheap but effective model for voice communication.
Logically, including a monitor and peripherals to a PC to work from home raises the price, but you would have a complete AMD PC for around 340 euros , which is still more than reasonable.
