As usual by Apple, no information has been given about the capacity of the batteries in the different iPhone 12 , although days after its presentation we already know these data thanks to the certification of the national telecommunications agency Anatel. This is the one in charge of having revealed us a very important information when buying one of the new models.
Unlike what we can find in the Android landscape with each generation, Apple has reduced the size of the batteries with respect to the iPhone 11 . This step back would clarify the changes in the measurements of the new iPhone 12, where the thickness has been reduced more. The data we have access to is the nominal capacity, which the manufacturers themselves request when shaping their devices and therefore the data on which we must base ourselves when making the calculations.
Battery capacity of iPhone 12 vs. iPhone 11
To know first-hand how the generation leap has been around the capacity in mAh in the iPhone, we are going to take a look back at the technical sheet of the iPhone 11. This will show us how the evolutionary leap has not been focused on an increase in size but rather in the optimization of the processor and of course iOS 14 for each and every one of the models.
IPhone 12 Mini Battery
We start with a new era of devices called mini, which does not have a smartphone that precedes it but stands out for its small battery of just 2,227 mAh, which is much less than the iPhone 11 with its 3,110 mAh. This model offers us a fast charge of 18W together with the wireless option added to the MagSafe with up to 15 W and a basic wireless charge of 7.5 W.
IPhone 12 Battery
The surprises also come to the standard model, with a revealed battery of only 2,815 mAh that does not overshadow the 3,110 mAh that we see in the iPhone 11. In this model the 18W fast charge is also maintained, as well as the MagSafe with up to 15 W and the Qi of 7.5 W.
IPhone 12 Pro Battery
For the first of the Pro models, the battery capacity is 2,815 mAh like the iPhone 12 , a figure that is again less than what we could know with the 3,046 mAh of the iPhone 11 Pro. The charging options in the Pro models are improved to reach 20W through the cable not included and the wireless loads of the previous models are maintained: MagSafe with up to 15 W and Qi with 7.5 W.
IPhone 12 Pro Max Battery
The largest of all, the iPhone 12 Pro Max has the largest battery as well as the size, in this case 3,687 mAh that are still surpassed by the 3,969 mAh of the iPhone 11 Pro Max.
