AMD tells you which graphics card you should buy with its comparator

When we go to buy a graphics card, we spend a lot of time looking at reviews of them to see which one is better. Not only talking about NVIDIA and AMD graphics , but then you also have to look at the different assemblers. AMD makes life a little easier for us, with a tool that compares the performance of its graphics card with that of NVIDIA.

The process of choosing a graphics card is not easy, since for a certain graphics card, there are many versions. For example, of the RX 6800 XT we have variants from ASUS, Gigabyte, ASRock, Power Color and other assemblers. Also, each assembler does not have only one version, it can have two, three or more variants of the same graph.

AMD launches a tool to compare graphics

Manufacturers are developing tools and solutions that make life easier for users. Complete tools that allow you to adjust game settings, adjust aspects such as frequencies and the like, among others.

A new solution to make it easier for the user to choose a graphics card is the new AMD comparator . Simply, we must choose the game on which we are interested in knowing the performance. We can adjust other parameters, such as resolution, graphic quality and API.

We can choose, at the moment, between eleven different games. In addition, we can vary the resolution between 1080p, 1440p and 4K. They are possibly the two most important aspects to navigate between for comparison.

This tool seems quite reliable, since not all games win Radeon graphics. Then, we must take into account that the data with stock graphics , come on, with Founders Edition models in the case of NVIDIA and with AMD’s own models. Later, we will have to consider if the graphics card is overclocked by the assembler or if we are going to modify its frequencies.

Also note that AMD provides information about the hardware used for the benchmark, more or less. Indicates that they have used a Ryzen 5000 Series processor , without specifying the model. The motherboard and BIOS used are also not specified. It is indicated that 16 GB of DDR4 RAM has been used, we assume that in a 2 x 8 GB configuration. The operating system and driver version are also indicated.

You can access this tool from the AMD website

it was about time

Realistically, it was time for one of the two graphics card manufacturers to release such a tool. Presumably more GPUs and of course more games will be added over time. What doesn’t seem likely is that assembler models will be added, it seems like it was just based on reference models.

AMD, in this case, has been very clever, since at the marketing level it is a very interesting solution. You offer the user all the information on their favorite game or games. It is possible that many end up opting for a Radeon graphics based on the data.

Then there is the matter of our budget and the market situation. But being able to see how the graphics we want or the one that falls within our budget will perform is very good. It makes life a little easier for us, which in the end is what most interests us all.
