A few months ago, before the end of 2019, Niantic released a new functionality for its successful Pokémon GO game. That new feature is called Adventures With Your Partner , and it’s meant to provide the player with companionship, all through augmented reality.
Its system basically works in spending more time with a specific creature and giving it the necessary care, as if it were a pet. Not everything is a journey of roses, since this friendship will require a level system to improve it, so we are going to discuss several tips on how to activate this function and progress in it.
What are Adventures with your partner?
It’s about choosing, from our Pokédex, our favorite pet, the one that we adored during childhood in the animated series. It is with which we are going to share many hours in the game, so the choice must be ideal. However, if for some case we repent, we can change partners whenever we want without losing progress. 
We must attend to their care and fulfill several objectives together, such as capturing new Pokémon or finding objects. If for some reason, this function does not appear, perhaps it is because we have deactivated the “Companion Talent” option, located in the game’s settings menu.
Friendship levels and their rewards
As we mentioned, the affinity between player and Pokémon goes through friendship levels that if we increase them, we will get our pet to do more tasks and get more rewards. Before that, we must feed it with berries to gain confidence, and for this you just have to click on “Play”, within the menu of your partner. Once there, augmented reality will activate and we will throw a berry at our Pokémon as food.

After offering you berries to eat, it is the most basic level we start with. It will not do anything for us, it will simply appear on the map along with our avatar to check your mood , in addition to seeing it through the camera.
Great companion
From here, we begin to apply tasks to him to carry them out, such as making life easier for us to capture other creatures, or finding objects and gifts for us, if these are far from our location.

After feeding and caring for it as if it were a baby, little by little we are increasing the level of friendship with our Pokémon. At this stage, we will get you to find relevant locations, either for objects or creatures less common to see, as well as souvenirs scattered around the map.

At this level, we are at the highest point of this prolific friendship. As a symbolic signal, we will receive a PC enhancer for our partner in combat, and it will show a best partner ribbon. There the story does not end, if we want to continue conserving our companion pet, we must feed it and maintain its health bar.
How to increase friendship faster
Obviously, this scale of friendship levels needs progress. This progress is achieved by performing a series of daily tasks, which we will expose to reach the maximum level much earlier than expected. With this we will get hearts of affection , which will allow us to increase friendship. 
- Walking together: It is the most used resource, since while we play Pokémon GO looking for souvenirs or new creatures, we can walk with our partner. Thus, we will generate up to 3 hearts daily, one for every 2 kilometers.
- Playing together: It is important to share moments with the pet so that it is catching affection and thus level up quickly. The game offers, through augmented reality, different interactions such as stroking it.
- Fight with your partner: We can use it to fight coaches from other gyms or on raids, which will give us a daily heart.
- Taking a picture: If we take several snapshots with the Pokémon, this will make it feel happy and more like us.
- Obtain Pokocho: To obtain it, we must buy it in the in-game store, in exchange for 100 Pokécoins. It is a kind of bread that will prolong the time that the Pokémon stays with us on the map, that is, we can forget about the berries for a while.
- Visiting new sites: Discovering new or hidden places on the map will also make friendship increased.
All this we can put into practice with all the Pokémon we want. In fact, the game allows us to change partners up to 20 times a day , giving us the opportunity to get more hearts and more rewards. Obviously, we are not going to cover 6 kilometers with each Pokémon, that is something humanly impossible, but we can play with them or fight from home.
