Google incorporates several elements that are intended for the emergency services to have more information about our state or location. In addition, we ourselves can make a call for help if necessary in a simple way. However, there are previous elements that we will have to configure before the emergency occurs, to be prepared.
Set up your mobile for emergencies
Before the emergency
One of the best Android options, allows anyone to read an information message on our mobile screen without having to block it. We may add personal information such as our blood group, diagnosed allergies or the medications we have prescribed. In this case, the information is very valuable for the healthcare provider who attends us, if at our side we do not have another person who can provide this information.
In order to configure it, we open the Settings / Phone information / Emergency information menu. Now we introduce the information that we consider necessary. To add medical information, tap on “Edit information” while to add emergency contacts, tap on Add contact. Now, with the screen locked we can slide our finger up and tap on Emergency / Emergency information, when the option appears we touch it again to see all the details.
Location activated for emergencies
This function allows that during an emergency call, the professionals who will help us can have accurate information about the location of our mobile, using Google’s location services. Activating this option will only activate the location when using these services. The location is sent via mobile and not by Google, which goes directly to authorized emergency services such as 112. To activate it, we have to go to Settings and tap on Location or Security and location. Then we tap on Advanced settings / Location services for emergencies and click on activate.
Message with locked screen
Similarly, we can also include a personalized message on the lock screen . This message can complement our health information or include any text that we consider important. It is also often used as a method when the terminal is lost, and someone who finds it can contact us.
To activate this function, go to Settings / Advanced settings / Lock screen / Message on the lock screen . Then we can configure the message that we consider necessary for the emergency services.
