We live in a connected world where privacy is always in question. Our mobile phone is the perfect breeding ground for a multitude of personal data, including our photos, financial information. Protecting our privacy is also protecting that of others, since on our smartphone there is not only information exclusively ours. Among the settings that Huawei phones offer to preserve all this data, Maintenance Mode stands out as one of the best tricks to avoid gossip.

It does not matter if we have a new mobile, since in a few days it will be full of personal information. Nobody wants a stranger to be able to access this data, so we can make use of the tools that we have at our disposal. Huawei has a tool, which is intended to be activated before sending the mobile to Technical Service , but which can be used in many other circumstances and be activated at any metronome.
Activate Maintenance Mode
When we activate the maintenance mode, we can leave the mobile to someone else or send it for repair, with peace of mind, since unauthorized access to photos, contacts, messages and other personal data is disabled, during the repair process. However, this does not prevent us from making the classic backup of our personal data, before sending the mobile. In order to activate this mode, we must enter the “Support” tool that comes pre-installed in all Huawei terminals with EMUI.

Once inside we will have to look at the “Featured” section and click on “Maintenance Mode”. When we enter, we will see the button that activates the mode and that requires restarting the terminal for its activation. When the mobile is turned on again, we will see that the content that we have mentioned above will not be displayed , so we can leave our mobile without fear, send it to repair etc … To exit Maintenance Mode, we will only have to slide the notification bar and press to deactivate. To confirm this action we will need to confirm with our fingerprint or password.
To consider
There are two fundamental and very important aspects to take into account when we need to activate this mode. The first is that we will need at least 2 GB of free space in internal memory to be able to activate it. If not, we will have to free up space and try again. The second and most important is that we should not activate the Maintenance Mode if we do not know or remember our password. In case of forgetting the password or not having activated fingerprint unlocking, we will have to reset the factory settings
