Each new version of MIUI adds endless corrections and improvements to Xiaomi phones, as well as new functions. Over time we have seen how taking screenshots is much easier although, in the latest iterations of the brand’s operating system, a problem has spread when it comes to taking them, which is really a configuration failure.

If we review the company’s support forums and some fan groups on Telegram or Facebook, we see how many clients of the Chinese firm complain that, for some time, the screenshots in Xiaomi come out dark . Although the screen brightness is at maximum and we are viewing the mobile in a normal way, when taking a screenshot with the mobile, the resulting image is darkened.
Why this confusing problem?
MIUI’s dark mode is to blame
In general, when we activate the dark mode it is current over the entire interface of the device by changing the color of apps and settings to a black or gray tone, at the same time that the text is inverted and starts to be displayed in white or light tones. The first configurations of this mode in Xiaomi only allowed to activate or deactivate this option but with each MIUI update options have been added that, precisely, are the ones that may be causing the problem with the screenshots on your mobile.
By enhancing the process to improve the visibility of the mobile interface, Xiaomi added the ability to set the phone’s wallpaper to MIUI’s Dark Mode. In this way, this setting allows us to reduce the funds that we have installed on our mobile and the visibility of apps and web pages. Therefore, having it activated, the screenshots will be darker than normal.

If you have this problem, it is probably because you have Xiaomi’s dark mode tool enabled . To remove it, all you have to do is open the MIUI settings panel, select the screen menu and, once inside, access the settings of the mode that dims the screen. Inside you will find the box that has to be unchecked so that when you take screenshots the same error is not repeated.
Of course, remember to adjust the automatic brightness to check that the problem has disappeared and not get confused.
