Sky Showtime arrives in our country today, February 28, 2023. From 07:00 a.m. (peninsular time) today you can register on the platform, create your account and sign up .
Its arrival was originally planned for February 14, but it finally took a little longer to be fully ready, but today it is 100% a reality.
Can you share account?
Unlike Netflix, Sky Showtime will allow us to share our personal account with a device limit, which on this platform will be three simultaneous devices . Technically, its use is reserved for devices in the same household (as was the theory in Netflix for a long time), but they have not announced any type of measure to block accounts outside the main home:
How many devices can I use to access SkyShowtime? Although you can register several different devices in your home to your SkyShowtime account, you will only be able to access SkyShowtime using a maximum of 3 devices at the same time. Can a member of my household also access SkyShowtime using my account? People who live in the same household as you can access your SkyShowtime account with your permission. You will remain responsible for any activity (including activity by any member of your household) on your SkyShowtime account by persons to whom you (directly or indirectly) have made the account and/or your password available (except for any activity caused by SkyShowtime or its representatives or contractors).
Prices and promotions
The monthly price of Sky Showtime officially at its launch is a competitive 5.99 euros per month . In itself it is already a fairly cheap price and it is two euros cheaper than the most basic Netflix plan (without ads). Sky Showtime will not have different subscription plans, but a single one.
Even better is the launch promotion that they have launched. Similar to what HBO Max did when it landed in our country, if you subscribe to Sky Showtime via the web before April 11 at 11:59 p.m. you will have “50% off the price forever.” In this way, you will only pay 2.99 euros initially and, in the event of a future price increase, 50% of the new amount.
Adding to the previous section, if you take advantage of the initial promotion and find two relatives or friends to share Sky Showtime, it will mean that you will only pay one euro per month .
Sky Showtime Max Resolution
As we said before, Sky Showtime has not chosen to segment its offer based on —among other criteria— resolution as Netflix does, for example, which restricts the highest quality available to the Premium Plan.
In the case of Sky Showtime, they will all have the same content and the same resolution, but this may be a somewhat disappointing starting point. Sky Showtime will only work at a maximum resolution of Full HD .
Channels and content
Sky Showtime is really an amalgamation of on-demand content from various channels and services.
