Xiaomi itself has made this announcement official through its own website . In an article, he explains in detail that the end of the MIUI gallery cloud synchronization function does not mean the definitive goodbye to your captures, since the company has already found the key to avoid the problem.
The key is to integrate the Google Photos backup option into the system layer app itself. Quanxin Wang, General Director of Product and Technology of Xiaomi International, has confirmed it in this way:
“Xiaomi continuously seeks ways to improve the experience of our software products. Google Photos and Xiaomi share similar values in the goal of providing a reliable platform for users and their everyday moments captured on their smartphones. Our cooperation with Google Photos will offer users users an easy way to ensure that their data is stored securely, while being able to easily access it across different devices as needed.”
So there is no need to be afraid of losing all the photos you have taken with your Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO phone . It was obvious that the company was not going to let them be forgotten in limbo and the decision to integrate Google Photos in this way may be the best solution to the problem, since it will allow access to them from various devices.
