bad, very bad news for some of the owners of Xiaomi‘s famous entry-level smartphones. The brand, despite including different Redmi models among those chosen to receive MIUI 12 , is finally forced to cancel this update due to performance problems found in said mobiles.

Xiaomi’s latest operating system has been with us for more than half a year since last April the software landed on the manufacturer’s first mobiles. In the first list of mobile phones compatible with MIUI 12, the brand included, among the devices that would receive the update, the Redmi 7, Redmi 6, Redmi 6A and the Redmi Y3 .
Nobody thought that these low-end smartphones were going to be updated with the latest version of MIU before the end of the year, since there are a large number of models ahead of them but what was unthinkable is that Xiaomi would finally back down. and it will leave them anchored in MIUI 11, without the possibility of receiving MIUI 12 not now or in the future.

What happened?
According to the brand’s calendar, both the Redmi 7 and the Redmi 6 were scheduled to receive the MIUI 12 update in October of this year and, as many of the owners of the phone will know, this never came to be. More than two months later, the story has taken an unexpected turn as Xiaomi has updated its operating system page warning that there will be no MIUI 12 update for the Redmi 7, Redmi 6, Redmi 6A and Redmi Y3.
The statement appearing on Xiaomi’s website claims that “the following device models originally included in the MIUI 12 release schedule will not be updated due to compatibility and performance issues: Redmi Y3, Redmi 7, Redmi 6A, Redmi 6 “.
The brand has wanted to detail what these problems have been found in cheap Xiaomi phones, so the only thing we can assure you is that none of them will be updated, at least officially, with the manufacturer’s software. Now it remains to be seen what the future holds for other input devices of the firm, especially when talking about the MIUI 13 update.
Will it reach models like the Redmi 8 and Redmi 9 or will these be Xiaomi’s next low-end smartphones to be anchored in the manufacturer’s calendar?
