When Xiaomi announced MIUI 12 last year , it was accompanied by a long list of compatible devices. This does not mean that all computers receive the same news, or in the same version of Android. That makes for continuous headaches for software engineers, who have to solve an endless list of reports.
MIUI 12 failures can be given in several layers, from a problem generated by the software itself, the combination of software with compatibility problems with the hardware, to more specific cases in specific areas or models. Many of these bugs are fixed, but other minor ones may never be solved. At this point, the most recent and serious case was that of the Xiaomi Mi A3, after its update to Android 11, leaving many terminals unusable.
Phones with more problems in MIUI 12
As we say there are devices that have more or less flaws, and specific models whose list is very long. In Piunikaweb they collect many of these problems and we can see how a great majority have not been solved. Terminals such as the Xiaomi MI 9T, the Poco F1 or the Redmi Note 8 Pro, are the protagonists of a large number of these reported errors, which await a solution.
All these terminals, running with MIUI 12, have problems of lesser or greater severity, but they all negatively affect the experience. The severity also depends on the use of each user, since a failure in Bluetooth is not the same for someone who never uses this connectivity, than for someone who is vital to be connected using this method.

Xiaomi Mi 9T
The Mi 9T is one of the terminals most affected after the arrival of MIUI 12 . Many unsolved issues like the ones we describe below.
- Problems with WhatsApp texts not displaying correctly
- Problems with gestures that sometimes don’t work
- Status bar icons disappear with Dark Mode
- The old gesture to switch applications and the bottom bar of Google is not available for some users
- Screen flickers sometimes when unlocking
- AOD mode displays AM and PM hours in 24 hour mode
- Crash animation on double tap notification
- Failures in the sounds of WhatsApp notifications
Redmi Note 8 Pro
The Redmi Note 8 Pro is another terminal to which MIUI 12 has not sat well . The terminal also has a few bugs awaiting resolution.
- The device watermark is incorrect.
- Problem with the transparency of the gesture bar
- List of connected devices and access point lock option fails
- Notification tone sometimes fails
- Failures with GPay
- Notification problems on WhatsApp
Pocophone F1
It is one of the veterans who have been updated to MIUI 12. It is still a very powerful terminal and one of those that has given the best results, until the long-awaited version arrived. The problems did not take long to appear after its update to MIUI 12.
- Control center shortcuts reset on theme change
- Poco launcher update frequency issue
- Notifications are not showing
- Notification panel doesn’t open on first swipe
- When screen recording starts, the control center cannot be opened
- Overheating issue when recording in 4K at 60fps
- Cannot render 4K videos in the gallery’s built-in video editor
- Video editor back gesture does not work
- The sound effect is restored with each restart of the terminal.
And the solutions?
Software updates should fix many of these bugs, at least the ones that weigh most heavily on experience in order of importance or reporting. However, brands do not tend to complicate much with the most veteran terminals, investing software resources. This often causes users to want to downgrade and return to a previous, more worked and mature version or the version with which the terminal was released.
