Both have FullHD resolution, but the density of pixels per inch is higher in the Huawei terminal with its 422 dpi compared to the 403 dpi of the Mi 9. The featherweight prize goes to the P30 since it reaches 165 grams, compared to the 173 grams of Mi 9. Curiously, the two terminals are the same 7.6 millimeters thick.

Brains and memory
When we lift the hood we see a fierce competition between the Snapdragon 855 of the Mi 9 and the Kirin 980 of the P30. In terms of Artificial Intelligence, the P30 squeezes the double NPU of the chip better, but the Snapdragon 855 is more powerful. Both terminals are accompanied by 6 GB of RAM and reach up to 128 GB of internal memory, counting the Mi 9 with a variant less than 64 GB.
We found a triple rear camera on both devices with a main sensor of 48 megapixels in the Mi 9 and 40 megapixels in the P30. Both have telephoto and wide-angle, but the P30 has a 3X optical zoom compared to the 2X of the Mi 9.
This may not be a trigger for the purchase, but at a time when the optical zoom charges more and more importance, must be mentioned. In the selfie section the Mi 9 is left with 20 megapixels for the 32 megapixels of the Huawei P30.
Battery and Android
Both terminals have the main connections, including Bluetooth 5.0 NFC and even fingerprint sensor under the screen. The Mi 9 reaches 3,300 mAh with fast, wireless and inverse charging, while the Huawei P30 rises to 3,650 mAh with a fast charging of 22.5W but not wireless.
Both terminals work with their respective layers of customization, which have their defenders and detractors. Due to its vast portfolio Xiaomi walks slowly but surely when updating its main devices such as the Mi 9 to MIUI 11 based on Android 10. Huawei on the other hand has done its homework before and the P30 already has this new version, in your case EMUI 10.
Prices as a trigger
There is an important difference in prices. The Mi 9 we can buy it for about 329 euros, while the Huawei P30 is easily found for about 449 euros , which was the original price of the Mi 9 a few months ago. There is a significant difference of 120 euros, which tilts the balance a lot towards the Mi 9, in case our objective is to achieve the best at the best price.
