Xiaomi Mi 4K Video Conference Bar: New Webcam with Speakers and Mic

Speaker webcams are becoming more and more popular for video calling; especially if they are in groups. In the last year and a half, many webcams of all price ranges have been sold to make video calls, and the number of remote meetings has increased. Now, to facilitate these meetings, Xiaomi has launched a new 4K camera .

In the heat of the era of video calls by Zoom, Skype or Microsoft Teams , it is important to have the best quality, and a system that captures our voice in the most correct way possible. For this reason, in the last year, smart cameras with 4K sensors have proliferated that have functions such as intelligent digital zoom that magnifies the face of the person who is speaking. And Xiaomi could not be left behind.

4K webcam with 6 microphones and speakers – all in one

For this reason, they have launched the Mi 4K Video Conference Bar , their new 4K webcam to give a new life to your video calls. The camera has a USB C cable, and includes an adapter to USB A, so we can plug it into any computer without compatibility problems. In addition, it is Plug and Play, so it does not require drivers, since all the smart functions operate natively within the camera.

At the security level, the camera has a physical lens locking mechanism , thanks to which we can protect our privacy at all times and guarantee that no one is spying on us. On a physical level, we have three mounting modes, being able to put it on a tripod, on the wall, or on the desktop. The tripod option is something that many cameras oriented to video conferencing do not offer, and it is an excellent plus of comfort so as not to have to drill the wall and to be able to move the camera to make video calls as necessary.

The camera includes the main module with camera, speakers and microphone, an expansion microphone that we can place in the middle of the table, wall bracket with screws and plugs, remote control, power adapter, USB A adapter, batteries for the control , and two USB cables: one USB C to USB C of 5 meters, and another USB A to USB A of 7 meters.

120 degrees of vision and 10 W of power

The camera features a 4K sensor with 120 degrees of horizontal view, plus 10 degrees of vertical tilt. The sensor it uses is Sony, and it allows up to 8x zoom. The 5-meter cable is for the camera, and the 7-meter cable is for the microphone, which is optionally placed in the middle of the table, with a pick-up range of up to 3 meters. In the chamber we have 6 built-in microphones to pick up sound from multiple angles, picking up voices up to 5 meters away.

At the sound level, it has intelligent noise reduction with AI, reducing reverberation and eliminating ambient noise. All this is handled by a 14nm 8-core Qualcomm APQ8053 processor . The speaker power is 10 W.

Its price is 1,999 yuan, about 258 euros to change. It is already on sale in China, and it should not take long to appear in export stores. If you don’t want to spend money on a camera, you can always resort to using your SLR or mirrorless as a webcam.
