Windows 10 Moves the “Task View” Button to the Settings Menu

One of the main changes that came with Windows 10 was the new Settings panel. This section seeks to centralize all the configuration and customization options of the operating system that, little by little, is replacing the Control Panel . Putting Windows to our liking from this panel is very simple, fast and intuitive. However, the operating system has a large number of messy options scattered around different menus and sections, options that, little by little, find their place.

The new Windows Settings panel wants to centralize all the configuration and customization options of the operating system in one place. This new menu also wants to do away with other elements, such as the classic Control Panel. In this way, all the options are available to everyone, without having to go into sections that seem designed for system administrators.

Windows 10 Moves the "Task View" Button

Although it should have been done for a long time, it has not been until now that Microsoft has begun to take it seriously and, little by little, it is putting order in the options of its operating system. And as part of this new organization we can see two important changes that, very soon, will be part of the operating system.

New option for task view

The Windows 10 task view, also known as “Timeline” or “Timeline”, is a section through which we can access the history of open files and webs, as well as virtual desktops. It is a section from which we will be able to see everything we have been doing with the computer and easily recover any previous session.

We can open this task view using the Win + Tab keyboard shortcut , or from the button that appears on the taskbar, next to the search box. Users who like to customize the operating system and keep it clean usually hide all the icons and buttons they don’t need. And, to be honest, the one in the Task View is one of them.

Until now, if we want to hide this button we can do it by right-clicking on the taskbar and choosing the option ” Show Task View button “.

In the next Windows updates, this option will disappear from here, and it will be moved to the Settings menu, within the Personalization> Taskbar section . In this way we can choose from here whether or not we want to show this icon instead of doing it from the context menu. And hopefully this is the first of many similar changes to a cleaner Windows.

Do you need to clean Windows? Now you will easily see the recommended actions

In addition to the previous one, Microsoft is also preparing a new change that will soon arrive in the Configuration menu of the operating system. This new option, called ” User Cleaning Recommendations ” will become part of the Windows Storage Sensor. Thus, from the Settings panel we will be able to see if there are Windows elements that need to be cleaned. Junk files, cache or data synchronized with the cloud can be easily deleted from Windows thanks to this novelty.

When we will see these changes is anyone’s guess. Microsoft could perfectly include them with a monthly cumulative patch, although they will most likely be delayed until spring and will be part of Windows 10 update 21H1.
