Will We See a Xiaomi with Android One Again

After three years of the launch of the first Xiaomi Mi A1, which had Android One , we have seen how this relationship has had its pluses and minuses. This family of the Asian manufacturer was part of the program that we have mentioned, which meant that these terminals were left without the functions that MIUI could offer, maintaining the pure essence of the Google operating system.

Although a few years ago, users preferred Android as it is, tastes change over time. And now, it seems that they do value having a refined customization layer that is capable of offering users different extra options that cannot be found in the version of this operating system itself. So an important question arises, will we witness the other Xiaomi Mi A?

The Mi A4, mission impossible?

If we look at the presentation calendar of each of the terminals with the Android One program , we should at least know some of the details of the possible arrival of a new member of this family. In addition, going back further in time, we will see how the Mi A1 was born in 2017, followed by the Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite in 2018. And, finally, the A3 in 2019. So, if we do the math , we should have had one more member in the family in 2020.

Xiaomi Mi A3 facepalm

However, next July we will be two years old without hearing from a successor. And it is not that there are suspicions that a terminal development is being carried out with this operating system. Since, the classic features and specifications, responsible for putting long teeth to consumers, have not even been leaked.

All this tells us the worst, that Xiaomi had decided to definitively abandon this series. Although, no one has confirmed this news yet. In addition, they all point to the fact that the main culprit could have been the last terminal to join the family, the Xiaomi Mi A3 . Since they promised that they would have two years of updates … And they have not even been able to update it to the latest version of Android without all kinds of controversies arising about it. Due to different bugs and problems that have worsened the user experience.

Without going any further, the arrival of Android 11 has left many Mi A3s unusable, whose users, despite having a free solution from Xiaomi, are still waiting for their mobile to be fixed. Although, today, we can still find that many users have not been able to count on the relevant update. Therefore, it is still an unsolved mystery if we will be able to see a Mi A.
