As the Christmas season draws near, I find myself filled with wishes and hopes, particularly for a remarkable iPad that I’ve been eagerly anticipating. In the form of an open letter, this post shares my desires and insights with you and anyone else who may be reading. Perhaps it will provide inspiration for selecting the perfect device that aligns with your needs and circumstances. Allow me to divulge the iPad that has captured my heart this Christmas.

My Journey with iPads

My initial encounter with an iPad transpired in 2015. Freshly armed with my first paycheck, earned from writing for an iPhone-focused website, I promptly acquired a pristine White iPad mini with 32GB Wi-Fi. It was a treasure. Although I eventually parted ways with it, I later managed to secure an identical model. Nevertheless, a persistent curiosity lingered—how could I unlock more performance from this device, having once owned a MacBook Pro?

Over the years, Apple gradually unraveled the answer to this question. Until then, I perceived iPads as highly convenient tools; however, if you possessed a MacBook, it seemed redundant for work. At least, that was my belief until the advent of the third-generation iPad Pro. This conviction was further cemented with the introduction of Apple Silicon to the realm of Apple tablets.

My Ideal Christmas iPad

Let me be candid—I use my laptop for work. While it primarily resides on my desk, the prospect of traveling or working from various locations prompts me to consider alternatives to my MacBook. Several factors contribute to this consideration.

Firstly, my MacBook houses a plethora of stored data. Secondly, the cost of a MacBook is a significant investment. Thirdly, it occupies a substantial portion of my backpack space. As my mobility increases, the 11-inch iPad Pro has become my preferred size.

The iPad I desire this Christmas is the 11-inch iPad Pro, boasting 128GB of internal SSD storage, Wi-Fi + Cellular connectivity, and the sophisticated Space Gray finish (because why not choose the color, right?).

I perceive this device’s size as ideal for my anticipated mobile tasks: crafting articles and editing photographs. It’s notably more compact and lighter than my current 13-inch MacBook Pro from 2017. I’ve opted for 128GB of memory, as it meets my requirements. With USB Type-C for external storage, a NAS cloud, iCloud+, and Google Drive, I’ve streamlined my data across servers. If I seek to access all my content from the iPad, the key lies in the cloud. This seamlessly ties into the internet connectivity aspect.

I’m in pursuit of a work-centric device that accompanies me everywhere. I aim to avoid draining my phone’s battery by constantly sharing data. Autonomy and instant network accessibility are paramount for publishing and managing my daily tasks. In summary, this iPad model, with its specified features, aligns with my work style. Not to mention the formidable power of the M2 chip, the breathtaking screen quality, the intuitive iPadOS system, and Apple’s exemplary services.
