For some time now, Microsoft has embarked on an ambitious project related to one of the most widely used product types at the moment. We refer to Google’s Chromium-based Edge Internet browser. This, as you can imagine, replaces the classic Edge that was launched alongside Windows 10 .
In this way, one of the main advantages that this software presents us is its enormous capacity for growth and updating. In this way, the new Edge does not grow with the passage of time and every few days. In addition, Microsoft is now able to bring new features and changes at a much faster rate than with the old Edge.

This is something that we are gradually seeing in the trial versions of the program, functions that will later reach the stable version. That is why now we are going to talk about some of them. In fact, some of the new features that are now arriving are long awaited by many users. This is the case, for example, of the display of favorites that we can now do with the browser.
New favorites display and vertical tabs button
In this way, now when you click the Favorites button that can be seen in the Edge toolbar, a list with them will appear. In this way, in the upper right corner of the list, we can see an option in which clicking will move the panel to the right of the screen. At the same time in the Canary version you can also see the Favorites Panel with its new design. Keep in mind that in the current stable versions the browser does not offer this option.
On the other hand, in the new Edge, we also find a vertical tabs button that we can activate or deactivate from the program settings. Specifically, we refer to the possibility of seeing or not that button to activate the functionality as such. So users, if they wish, can hide the Vertical Tabs button. This is something that we achieve from Settings / Appearance, where we can now enable or disable the option.

It should be noted that the ability to hide the Vertical Tabs button is only available in Edge Canary 87.0.654.0.
Capture any part of a web with the new Edge
On the other hand, those from Redmond are also implementing a new web capture feature in Edge Canary . As its name suggests, this functionality allows us to take a screenshot of the website and share it with other users. This is something that we are going to achieve through the Windows 10 shared user interface.

We have the possibility of accessing this capture tool from the main menu of the program. Then we can select a section of a website and copy it to the clipboard. If we have the Windows cloud clipboard function active, we can share the capture instantly.

In the same way we will have the possibility of capturing the entire page by dragging the area to the bottom of it. Edge will scroll down to capture the entire page using the same process.
Use custom themes on new tabs page
Changing third, we are also going to find a function that allows us to apply custom themes to the new tab page. So we can enable Chrome themes on the new tab page, something that is not possible in stable versions at the moment. To achieve this, we just have to open a new tab and click on the settings icon, where we select Customize.
