Last year we saw how watchOS 6 came later to the original Apple Watch, Series 1 and Series 2. This was a version that finally did not sit very well with these watches that have now been outdated by software. Something similar is happening now to the Apple Watch Series 3, as it is choking on the first versions of watchOS 7. So much so that in the last few hours a new version exclusively for these watches has been released. We will tell you more below.
Goodbye to Apple Watch Series 3 reboots?
The first versions of a new operating system always usually bring some other stability problems despite having been in beta for months. This is the case of iOS 14 or iPadOS 14, but also of watchOS 7. However, it is not so normal that the problems go to such extremes as restarting the device without rhyme or reason or that this is not solved in later versions. Apple released watchOS 7.0.1 several weeks ago for it and nothing. Nor did watchOS 7.0.2 seem to completely solve the problems in Series 3. We now find a 7.0.3 that, we hope, is the definitive one to fix this bug.

And while it was not something that happened in absolutely all Apple Watch Series 3, the truth is that a large majority of users have reported battery problems and unexpected reboots at any time. It is clear that this is not normal, so it seems that in Cupertino they have been working in recent weeks to find the problem. In the update launched yesterday, they indicate the correction of this failure as the main novelty, so we understand that now you can enjoy a better experience in the watches of this model.

Will watchOS 7.0.3 reach the rest of the watches?
Probably not. Apple’s software release schedule is usually always one way. Once a year a great version is released, this year being watchOS 7. Then until the arrival of watchOS 8 various intermediate updates will arrive such as .1, .2, .3, etc. These versions contain stability improvements and maybe some other functionality. Three-digit versions such as 7.0.3 are more focused on punctual correction of bugs, without being so planned versions and without even having to have previous betas. That is why it should not go out in principle to any other Apple Watch unless errors like these were found.
It is expected that in the next few hours or days, iOS 14.1, the first major intermediate version of the new generation of iPhone software, will be released. Who knows if watchOS 7.1 could come with it, which would come for all compatible devices. We will remain attentive to clear up doubts, but in any case, if you have a Series 4, Series 5, Series 6 or SE, you should not wait for 7.0.3.
