But, thanks to a new option that came to Xiaomi we can allow ourselves to see the Wi-Fi password. An extra tweak that started on Chinese phones starting with MIUI 12. How to see the keys in MIUI
Before starting, we must mention that this trick is not recommended for other smartphones that do not have, at least, MIUI 12, because in that case we invite you to try the following method that we are going to teach you. Only users who have this version or a higher version of the Chinese software layer will be able to follow this process, with steps that, as you will see, are very easy to imitate and will only take a few seconds.
- First of all, we have to enter the settings of the Chinese phone.
- Now it’s time to access the Wi-Fi option.
- Next, we will have to click on the wireless network from which we want to get the key.
- A QR code will appear, to which we must take a screenshot with one of the different methods that exist in Xiaomi.
- Then, the small image will appear at the top, where we will have to touch ‘Send’.
- This will take us to a new window where we can choose an app to share it with, although we will choose the ‘Scan’ option.
With these steps, the Xiaomi application will do all the work for us. This way we will get the phone to show us the Wi-Fi password saved on the phone , as well as the security method it uses, in addition to the full name. In the event that it appears encrypted, we will only have to touch the screen and it will be shown to us so that we can use it where we need it.
With a Xiaomi mobile with root
All the phones of the Chinese firm have by default a function in their system that manages to store all the wireless networks to which we connect. If this were not the case, it would be impossible for us to constantly log in without having to enter the password over and over again.

In these cases, we do not need any QR code scanner to be able to see the password . It will only be a matter of going to Settings > Wi-Fi and clicking on the settings wheel of the wireless network that we have saved on the device.
Then we just have to touch the share button and next to the image, at the bottom, we can see the Wi-Fi password . So it will not be necessary to carry out as many steps as it happens in Xiaomi mobiles.
It’s always the same?
In case your mobile has some customization layer that changes the style and also the way of offering the option to share said key, it will only be necessary to use the most classic way to see the Wi-Fi key on Android. And it is that through Google Assistant, or any other scanner, we will be able to access the key of the wireless connection to which we are connected.
You just have to repeat the same process and take a screenshot of the QR code to later open the Google assistant and choose the screenshot from the multimedia files.
