Time-Synced Lyrics was presented at the same time as Apple Music in one of the events that Apple organizes every year. In this presentation we could see how the lyrics of certain songs appeared on the screen that Craig Federighi handled on stage. But of course, the phone was not the only device with which this function could be used. Until now, we could enjoy Apple Music and, therefore, Time-Synced Lyrics on: iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, Apple TV, Android or iTunes for Windows on a PC .
But how could it be otherwise, this functionality is being extended to the big screen, our Smart TV . The first to adopt it has been Samsung, just as it was the brand of smart TVs that first gave the possibility of installing the Apple Music app. And, in the next section, we explain what are the steps you must follow to view the lyrics of your songs on these computers.
Apple Music Time-Synced Lyrics on Samsung Smart TVs
Before discussing the steps to follow, you should know that not all brand smart TVs are compatible with this function of Apple’s streaming music service. As Samsung has transmitted to us in its own statement, the TVs that you can use Time-Synced Lyrics are the models developed between 2018 and 2020 exclusively . We do not know if this catalog will increase over time, but currently it is limited to this range only. Now that we have clarified this, if you have one of these models you can proceed with the following steps.
Like any process that depends on a third-party application, in order to use this functionality we must install the Apple Music app on the Smart TV. Press the search engine icon that you will find on the TV’s home screen, and enter the name of “Apple Music” and press download to install this app. Once in your catalog, you will only have to start it and log in with an AppleID in which you have already contracted the service, or start the subscription process from your own television. If you have not yet tried this service, you can do it for free for 3 months .
When you are already inside the service, you should only play any song and, if this function is available for your selection, the verses will automatically appear to the rhythm of the music.
You can also perform different functions with the lyrics of these songs such as:
- Use the cursor on the remote control to jump to one verse to another, or to see where you are in the song.
- You can deactivate the letters if at any time you are not interested in viewing them. Just tap on the “speech bubble” icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
- Check the full lyrics of a song. To do this, hold down the song with your controller, and then choose “See the full lyrics”.
And, in this simple way you can see the lyrics of your favorite songs to the rhythm of the music on your Samsung Smart TV.
