Boris FX offers a 15-day free trial of VEGAS Pro Ultimate for Windows. Start at the official trial page, then use Boris FX Hub to install and activate it. The trial page says no credit card is required.
Where to download VEGAS Pro
Open the official Boris FX VEGAS Pro trial page. Searches for Sony Vegas or Sony Vegas Pro often lead to old download guides. The current trial uses a Boris FX account and the Hub installer.
Install and activate the free trial
- Download Boris FX Hub from the trial page and open the installer.
- Open the Hub and sign in with your Boris FX account. Create an account if you need one.
- Choose the option to request an unrestricted VEGAS Pro trial after installation.
- Install VEGAS Pro Ultimate from the Hub and open it.
- Select Start Free Trial. When the trial is active, choose Back to App to start editing.
If the Hub asks you to sign in again, check that you are using the account that requested the trial. Follow the current steps on the trial page if a button name differs.
Check your PC before downloading
| Check | What matters |
|---|---|
| Windows version | The VEGAS Pro 2026 specifications list Windows 11. |
| CPU, RAM, and graphics | Compare the specifications for the resolution you intend to edit. Larger projects and higher-resolution video need more memory and graphics power. |
| Storage | Allow space for the program, your source footage, project files, and exports. Boris FX recommends fast storage for media. |
See the VEGAS Pro 2026 specifications for the exact requirements. Test a clip like the ones you plan to edit, then export it during the trial. If all you need is a quick cut, see our OpenShot guide to trimming and editing videos.
