In addition, the terminals of the Asian manufacturer have different tools or methods that help us to configure our usual phone in a mobile for work whenever we want. Therefore, we will explain all the possibilities that a Xiaomi mobile offers us to turn its terminals into a business phone.
What is the company mode?
The functionality that we present to you today can be found among the additional settings of those mobiles of the Asian manufacturer that have a version of MIUI 10 or higher. In addition, it is an important novelty for all those users who, in their day to day, have to use two different terminals to separate their personal life from their work. Well, with the Company Mode, or also known as Enterprise Mode , we will be able to turn a Xiaomi into our work mobile.
In addition, it will not only help us for this, but different characteristics are added that will give us certain functions to have greater comfort when using said mobile device, it will even guarantee an even higher security of our personal data. Although, the main negative factor that we can find is that, as it is not so well known, it has not been possible to fully exploit all the advantages of having this extra functionality.
Above all, it will greatly serve those companies that want to give their employees an exclusive device for business purposes. This means, a series of restrictions may be applied so that these terminals are used only for the tasks of a certain business. Basically, applications, communications, hardware or data, among many other functionalities, can be controlled or capped. How to activate it on your Xiaomi
The Chinese manufacturer makes it very easy for us so that we can be able to enable this mode without any problem. Although, we will tell you how to do it without having to resort to it, since the Terms and conditions will come in Spanish, but then it will not redirect to a manufacturer’s website that is not translated. The first thing you should do is enter Settings> Additional settings> Company mode . Once inside, two options will appear, one is the one that we have explained previously and another will be to activate it.
After clicking on that option, it will take us to a section where it will ask for our company credentials. To do this, we must register as developers in ‘My Enterprise Services’, in order to be given a code and a license. At the end of the page they send us to, a form will appear that we will have to fill in with the information of our business so that they can get in touch.
Once we have completed everything that they ask us and we have already been able to finalize said registration. We will only have to re-enter this mode, click on activate and enter the data that they have provided us. Afterwards, it will ask us to accept the privacy conditions and we will already have this extra function in our terminal.
Other tools to work with the mobile
Luckily, if you don’t want to have to wait to be able to use your personal mobile to work, there are different methods that will help us with this. In addition, not only the Google operating system will facilitate this, but we also find two other ways that the Asian manufacturer itself offers us to be able to separate both the applications and our personal data from those related to our work environment.
The Android work profile
In all devices that have Android, different profiles can be configured for this, with the aim that we can separate our personal life from work. And, with this type of profile, we can safely and privately use the same device while we work as in our day to day. In addition, with the arrival of Android 11, privacy has been further improved, something that really worried many users, since they did not know if their terminals were monitored by the company.
This Android 11 profile has had to assign new functions, which until then were only available on mobiles fully managed by a specific company. As is the case with asset management protection, personal use policies to restrict which applications can use or the management of hardware functions (Bluetooth, camera, removable storage).
To configure this option in our Android terminal, what we have to do is access its Settings and click on the option called Google. When we are inside, we will have to click on Configure and restore, which will allow us to see the option that we need that gives us the possibility of configuring said profile, where we will find everything we need.
Once we have it enabled, we can pause it by accessing Work Profile and doing the following:
- Swipe from the bottom to the top of the screen.

Create a second space on your mobile
We also find another possibility, which is offered by the phones of this Asian brand. That is, the fact of creating a second space within our mobile device to perform a series of functions, as is the case of using it only for our work environment. Likewise, it allows us to duplicate applications , being able to carry with us the work social media account in one space and the personal one in another. As for notifications, if we need some in both spaces, it will also allow us to continue receiving them.
The process to start it up on our Xiaomi mobile has two different ways. The first will be to do it through Settings> Second space, while the second will be from the security application. In both cases, we will find the same options and we can create it with the touch of a button. And to eliminate it, we must follow the same steps.
Guest mode
Another alternative offered by devices that have Android is the guest function , a way that will make it easier for us to lend a terminal to other people. Since, when activating it, certain limitations will be given so that they will not have the possibility to see the gallery, applications or other data.
To activate it we will have to go to Settings> System, and click on the Several users category. When we are inside, it will give us the possibility to change other users or create a new one if we have not configured any yet. In addition, it allows us to personalize each one of them with a photo and name.
