Nintendo has updated the software on their Nintendo Switch with a fairly major version. It is 10.0.0 , a round version that, as expected, brings great news for users. And is that the new software has finally included a feature demanded for a long time: copy files to the microSD card.
Copy DLC and updates to microSD
At last. Nintendo Switch users can now free up space on the console’s internal memory by passing data such as software downloads, updates and DLCs directly to the console’s removable memory. In this way, the internal memory will be freer from extra data to focus on the installations of the games that we download through the eShop.
Forget about saving the games
Anyway, this data saving option is useless if the software still does not allow copying something as valuable as the games. Nintendo continues to limit saving games in the cloud (something that requires a monthly subscription to the Nintendo Switch Network), so we can continue without being able to back up our progress locally.
This is something that is especially needed in a game as key as Animal Crossing: New Horizons , where there is no backup in the cloud or any other system, so in case of console breakdown and general failure we would lose all new berries overnight.
Controls to your liking
Another novelty included is related to controls, and is that now the system allows us to configure them to our liking. Whichever command is used, we can remap the buttons as we see fit, being able to store a total of 5 custom settings in the memory of the console (5 for the left Joy-Con, 5 for the right Joy-Con and another 5 for the Swtich Pro Controller).

Taking advantage of the fever that was born with the release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons , Nintendo has included six new avatars related to the game so that users can customize their avatar inspired by the brand’s title.

To get the latest version of the system you just have to enter the System configuration section of the console, select “System”, then “System Updates” and follow the instructions that will appear on the screen to proceed with the installation of the new version of the system.
