Uninstall these programs as soon as possible to improve Windows

In general we are used to installing all kinds of programs on the computer. Many of them do not slow down Windows, and they do not affect the proper functioning of the PC. However, there are software, even very popular and recommended, that do negatively affect the correct functioning of the PC, simply by having them installed. Also, depending on the program, if we use it, it can make our PC work even worse than before. These are the problems we must avoid.

CCleaner and other unnecessary cleaners and optimizers

CCleaner is the best known and most widely used cleaner and optimizer for Windows. This program, which we can use for free, is responsible for detecting and deleting all kinds of junk, temporary and unnecessary files from the PC, as well as helping us to optimize it, clean the registry and take care of our privacy. A highly recommended program but one that, in the long run, can cause problems, especially if we use it badly. In addition, this type of program usually has processes and services in the background, wasting RAM, CPU and other resources in a totally unnecessary way.

In addition to this, there are other similar tools that, although they are less known, work the same. And therefore they will give us the same problems. Among others, we can mention BleachBit , Glary Utilities , Clean Master or IObit Advanced SystemCare.

Windows 10 has its own ” Storage Sensor ” that allows us to automate the cleaning and optimization tasks of the operating system without causing problems. Thanks to him, all the other programs that we can install are totally unnecessary.

In addition to the previous programs, all kinds of hardware optimization tools (such as SSD optimizers, defragmenters, RAM liberators, etc.) are not recommended that we must avoid if we want Windows to work well.

Uninstall all antivirus and security programs (except one)

Antivirus is essential to be able to surf the net safely. However, security programs are one of those that consume the most resources and that make our computer go slow the most. Although Windows 10 has its own antivirus, Windows Defender , there are many users who prefer to install other antivirus or security tools, either because they have a valid license, because they feel more secure or simply because they do not like to trust Microsoft.

Windows defender antivirus

Windows Defender has proven to be one of the best antivirus, a program on the same level as any other security suite. In addition, we have other free antivirus that we can install on the PC, such as Avast or Avira, which are much simpler and lighter than large suites such as Kaspersky or Norton 360. The important thing is to make sure that we only have one antivirus running on the computer. And, if the antivirus has a good engine, it will not be necessary to install other programs, such as the well-known Malwarebytes , which, in the long run, end up consuming resources on the PC, even if they are not always running.

We also include in this section the third-party firewalls that we can install on the PC. Windows 10 has its own firewall, a firewall that offers us good security (although it is somewhat complicated to configure) and that makes it unnecessary to use other firewalls such as Comodo or Zone Alarm.

Adobe programs? Better not

When we are going to leave our computer ready with everything we may need, there are always programs that we often install, such as the Adobe suite. Reader for PDFs, Photoshop to edit images, Premiere to edit videos, etc. However, have we ever stopped to think about everything that lies below these?

Installing Adobe programs implies installing a large number of services and processes, starting with Creative Cloud Desktop, the tool that allows us to manage our subscriptions, download them, update them, etc. And all this is always loaded at system startup and consumes a significant amount of resources. Therefore, whenever we can, it is better to avoid them and look for alternatives to Adobe programs, such as:

  • Adobe Reader – Sumatra PDF or Microsoft Edge.
  • Photoshop – GIMP or Paint.NET .
  • Adobe Premiere – OpenShot or Kdenlive .

Always look for the simplest programs

When we install a program packed with functions and features, do we really need all of them? Programs are becoming more and more comprehensive and, instead of focusing only on one purpose, they cover a multitude of functions and features. And that, in the end, translates into a greater consumption of resources and a greater size.

The simpler the software, as long as it meets our needs, the better. And so we will get the PC to work in the best possible way.
