The mobile battery is one of the elements of any smartphone that presents the most problems, and at any time. When we buy a new one, we always look at its capacity, specifically in milliamp hours . The higher the number of milliamps, the greater the capacity and, therefore, the greater autonomy it will provide to our device in one hour.
The theory is very simple, but the practice is not so much, because with the passage of time and prolonged use of our terminal, the battery discharges before or its capacity decreases and, as a consequence, we have to put it on charge first. Who does not have a mobile lost in a drawer that has not been turned on for years?

Whenever we change our terminal, we usually keep our previous model, either because it was outdated or because we simply decided to acquire a more modern one. On many occasions, we can go to it as a last resort because we have lost or are fixing the current one, or we simply want to rescue old files or photographs. Ultimately, it doesn’t matter what the reason is. The problem is that when we want to turn on this jewel, we find that the mobile does not turn on . Why? Well, for the simple reason that the battery has been completely discharged after not having been used for so long.
Have you made sure it doesn’t turn on?

It seems like a simple question, but it is far from it. Before getting to the worst, we must exhaust all the options to try to turn on the mobile without battery .
try to turn it on
One solution is to perform a battery cycle reset . For devices with a removable, it’s as easy as taking it out, waiting a few seconds, and putting it back in. However, all current smartphones have a single body, that is, this component cannot be easily removed, since it does not have one of this type. Therefore, hold down the power button of the device for several seconds.
We must keep the button pressed. Although, depending on the manufacturer, you should keep it like this for 10 or 30 seconds. The more the better, until some image or logo appears on the screen. This will not be impossible, even if the mobile seems to have no battery, since there is always a small percentage of emergency left for these cases.
Do battery tests
As for the second option, we will have to put it to load . The ideal is to do it with the original cable and charger for between 15 and 30 minutes , although sometimes it is enough to have it for a couple of minutes until the battery icon appears on the screen. If it does not charge, we must try another charger, since this one may be damaged. We wait again between 15 and 30 minutes.
After having connected the phone to the charger and the icon does not appear or we see any charging LED, it means that it does not have enough power to turn on or display any content on the screen. Let the phone charge for a few more minutes, and then try the first method again.
It charges but doesn’t turn on.
The last option is that it is not a problem with the mobile battery, but that the phone does not turn on because of the screen . To check it, we must press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Then we wait two minutes and then we make a call to that phone. If it sounds, the problem is with the screen. If it does not sound, it will be a failure of this component of the smartphone.
Methods to turn on the mobile
Definitely, our cell phone without a battery does not turn on by applying the most basic alternatives. This means that, in order to revive it, we must look for more effective solutions. Although they can also play tricks on us if we do not apply them correctly.
We can opt for this solution when our device does support charging, but is unable to turn on. This process is also known as ‘ simulated battery removal ‘, and it can save our phone in many cases. Each brand has a different modus operandi and, below, we will tell you how to do it for each manufacturer. However, you must bear in mind that all the data that you have been storing on the device will be completely deleted. Therefore, we recommend you go to the last section of the article so that you can recover all the files. Then, we can perform the following steps:
- Samsung – Press and hold the power and volume down buttons for about 10 seconds. On some models, you’ll also need to press the Home button. If the Boot Mode menu appears when you restart your phone, you must select the Power down option to confirm the process.

- Pixel/Nexus – Hold down the power button for about 10 seconds.

Backup copies can save us from many troubles when it comes to recovering our files. In the case of photographs, Google Photos can be your best ally, as it automatically saves all the images you store on your phone to the cloud. If you had a backup activated in the application on your old mobile, it is most likely that your photos are safe and sound. The only thing you have to do to verify it is to enter from any device with the same account that you had in your previous terminal and you will be able to download them wherever you want.
Google Contacts
There are different ways to save contacts on our device. In our SIM card, in the mobile’s own storage or in the cloud. The Californian company also comes into play here, as it has its own section for our contacts. If you previously had it activated and had made a backup, you can restore all the numbers on your new device in this way:
- Go to your device settings and look for the Google menu.
- Look for the Configure and restore section and access it.
- Once inside, click on Restore Contacts.
- Select your account (since you can have several) and choose the backup you want to restore. Next, all the contacts will have been synchronized on your new smartphone.
Use Drive
Through Google Drive you can restore applications, call history, calendar and much more stored in your personal Google account. We can carry out this action when we configure our new device. To do this, you must do the following:

- On your new phone, enter your Google account.
- When you have requested, it will tell you that a backup is available.
- Restore the backup. All your files and documents from your Google account will be restored to your new device.
