And this is because Remedy’s game is simply superb, it is a spectacle of setting, entertaining game mechanics but, above all, it has a narrative power that perfectly explains why the world of video games has so much future and so much pull. It is impossible to experience in such a personal and unique way a story that is out of the ordinary and is among the best of what we have enjoyed in 2023.

TIME magazine has not stopped there and has made a top 10 with everything that stands out for 2023. And the truth is that the list is not bad at all. First because it places Baldur’s Gate 3 as runner-up and second because Zelda is in the position it deserves (even a little lower). Respecting all opinions, Tears of the Kingdom cannot be considered the best we have seen this year since Nintendo has given us a bit of a catch by leaving us a layer underneath in which Breath of the Wild is intact, untouched.
