Amazon Drive will continue to be available until December 31, 2023 if you have uploaded files. That day, they will be erased. But from January 1, 2023 we cannot upload anything to the Amazon files and photos application and we have no choice but to look for alternatives, applications that fulfill the same functions to migrate the content.
We can continue using Amazon Photos as normal and with a recently renewed interface, but you will not be able to upload files to Amazon Drive now. Luckily, there are applications that allow us to upload content to the cloud and always have a backup copy of our photos and all kinds of files that you want.
MEGA
Mega is the best option if you are looking for a large amount of free cloud storage without having to pay anything and in a comfortable way. Just by registering we will have access to 25 GB of free storage that we can use for whatever we want both from the mobile application and from the website. MEGA is free and we can organize our files with folders to have everything at hand but it also has an option of images and videos that allows you to find any image according to the day, year or month of it.
In addition, it also allows us to get more space if we fulfill a series of tasks. For example, we can install MEGA’s desktop app or mobile app to get an extra 5 GB on the account, or we can get an extra 5 GB of storage for each friend who installs the app on our behalf.
Amazon photos
Amazon Photos is the best alternative to Amazon Drive and is the one proposed by the company itself, but it has a problem: it is exclusively for images and we cannot upload videos or other documents, so we cannot save everything. Of course, it has many interesting functions and allows us to use artificial intelligence to quickly find all the photos in which the same person appears without having to search for them one by one. Or we can go quickly to a specific day of all the images you have uploaded, without complications and in just a few seconds.
Amazon Photos allows unlimited image storage for Amazon Prime users so you can have thousands and thousands of photos uploaded here.
Dropbox
Another of the best alternatives to Amazon Drive is Dropbox, one of the great classics. We can use it for free but it only offers us 2 GB of free storage, much less than what MEGA offers us and what Amazon Photos offers to Prime users.
But we can have everything synchronized from the phone or the computer and we can expand space by inviting users or paying monthly or annually to have up to 3 TB of storage in which to save what we want by organizing them by folders, synchronized between devices, etc.
Google Drive
Google Drive also gives us free cloud storage at no cost and we can have 15 GB per user in addition to useful functions that you surely know and use every day such as Gmail, Google Meet, Gmail or the document and spreadsheet creation tools of those in Mountain View.
Of course, you must bear in mind that those 15 GB of Google will be distributed among all the content that you have linked to your account, including email attachments. But it’s a good option and you can pay around nine euros a month to have up to 2TB of cloud storage for whatever you want.
