The Chinese smartphone brand wanted to surprise us before the end of 2021. If everything seemed finished for this year, the Asian firm wanted to say goodbye in style with the premiere of its new Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro models. In addition, the new series of the manufacturer has been presented in style at an event in which we have also been able to meet MIUI 13 and the Xiaomi Watch S1.
However, what matters to us right now is knowing each of the characteristics of the new Xiaomi range tops . Although, with the recent leaks, there was little left to know about these three smartphones that join the catalog of the Asian developer.
The new Xiaomi range tops
The Asian firm has presented its new 12 series in style before the end of the year, so it will start 2022 on the right foot. In addition, these three phones will debut in the smartphone market accompanied by MIUI 13 as their predefined operating system together with Android 12 , since, as we have said before, it has also just been officially presented by the brand.
Likewise, the 12 and 12 Pro also come with a video recording function powered by the CyberFocus AI to improve the autofocus of their cameras.
The 12X, the most economical
The Xiaomi 12X is the only member of the new series of the Chinese firm that has been left without the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor . In this way, they have made it the most affordable phone of the three new phones that the Asian brand has just introduced in its native country. In the same way, its power will be more than enough to enter the high range, since it will have a Snapdragon 870.
Among other features, its panel will be AMOLED and will equal 6.28 inches and 120 Hz for the refresh rate of the Xiaomi 12. And another difference from the rest of its brothers, this model will not use a panel manufactured by Samsung. It will also have a 50 megapixel main camera, a 4500 mAh battery and a 67 W fast charge.
The standard Xiaomi 12
This model comes with the same 6.28-inch AMOLED panel as the previous smartphone. This phone has a weight of 180 grams and width of 69.9 mm. Its screen has been manufactured by Samsung. In addition, it has an FHD + resolution (2400 1080 pixels) with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and the colors will be 12 bits, with 1,100 nits of maximum brightness and 419 PPI.
It also has a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus coating and compatibility with HDR10 + and Dolby Vision. And not only this, but it comes with DisplayMate A +, so we will notice a major change in its touch panel.
And, how could it be otherwise, this terminal also debuts the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 accompanied by LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1. As for its battery, we will have 4500 mAh along with a 67 W fast charge, a 50 W wireless and, finally, a 10 W inverse.
If we look at its rear cameras, we will also find a module with three lenses. The Pro 12 Series
The panel that will use this Pro model of the new Xiaomi series , manufactured by Samsung, is an AMOLED screen (type E5) that can change its refresh rate up to 120 Hz, in order to save battery. In addition, its touch sampling frequency will be 480 Hz. The size of its display is 6.73 inches with a 2K resolution (3200 x 1440 pixels) and 1,500 nits of maximum brightness. Although, in this model, the colors will be 10 bits, and not 12 bits as in the standard. And, as in the previous model, this phone also has the protection of Gorilla Glass Victus and support for Dolby Vision.
This terminal, which weighs 205 grams, arrives on the market together with the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 , something that the Chinese brand itself had already confirmed on its own before the presentation. As for the component in charge of giving the power it needs to this mobile, we will first have a 4600 mAh battery together with a 120 W fast charge, while it will have a 50 W wireless and a 10 W reverse.
If we go to its photographic section, we will see that its main lens stands out for its imposing size. We are facing a 50 megapixel sensor with 1 / 1.28 inches Sony IMX707. Prices for the new 12 series
Although they have just been officially presented in China, it is still unknown when they will land in Spain. However, it is clear that they will arrive from 2022. Also, for now we only know their original price , but it will help us to get an idea of how much it will cost us.
The 12 and 12 Pro models arrive in four colors: green, blue, black and pink. Instead, the Xiaomi 12X will have three: black, blue and pink. Of course, we must bear in mind that they will be a little more expensive, since the different taxes of our country will have to be added.
