Apple has been heavily criticized by the community because the iPhone 14 and iPhone 13 are the same smartphones, but with a different name and a higher price of 100 euros more. Things change a bit when we talk about the iPhone 12 , since there are already two years of difference between each one. On this occasion, the iPhone 14 does have a better chip, as well as a substantial improvement in autonomy. The performance will improve, but the question is whether the change is so palpable in hindsight. On the other hand, we find the same 12 MP double camera that the iPhone 14 also has, but in terms of results it shows a clear discrepancy, especially in night scenarios. The battery reaches only 13 hours of video playback and in this sense there is a brutal change of up to 10 more hours with the iPhone 14.
The last model we are going to investigate is the iPhone 8 from 2017 , that is, 5 years have passed. A clear indication that the hardware has become outdated despite the fact that today it has iOS 16. However, it only has a single 12 MP rear camera and equips a 4.7-inch IPS panel , while the iPhone 14 has a 6.1-inch panel that is much more visible to users. The processor is also an Apple A11 Bionic , so in terms of general performance you are going to notice it a lot and we are not even talking about the battery, because with the most current model you have up to 11 more hours of autonomy.
In short, buying the iPhone 14 is advisable in the case of having an iPhone 11 at most , because this is where you will notice the changes. Otherwise, opting for the iPhone 12 or 13 will seem to you that you have the same smartphone as before and on top of that you will have to pay more than what you previously paid for them.
