The news has been confirmed by company executives, who clarified that this new customization layer would be compatible with certain old Xiaomi smartphones. Zhang Guoquan, director of Xiaomi’s System Software Department, confirmed the availability of the MIUI 14 update for the Mi 10 series by responding to a Weibo comment.
Of course, he did not indicate which would be the exact models that would receive it, although we do know that the update will take a few months since it has to reach other more recent models of the brand before.
The Mi 10 series has 5 phone models which are Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, Mi 10 Lite, Mi 10 Lite Zoom and Mi 10 Ultra. For now, the update has been confirmed for the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro, but it is possible that other models will also receive it. In any case, it is unknown which are the exact phones of the series that will receive MIUI 14.
All of them were released in 2020 with Android 10, about 3 years ago. Almost all of them did so under the MIUI 11 customization layer, although the Mi 10 Ultra arrived with MIUI 12, not without its problems.
