As expected, Apple has presented the 3rd generation iPhone SE at its special event titled Peak Performance. This new device incorporates novelties with respect to its predecessor, although with a certain old flavor. In fact, the rumors that were around this terminal have ended up being true.
What’s new in iPhone SE (3rd gen.)
A small déjá vu has come to us when we have seen this “new” device. And it is that aesthetically it is still based on the iPhone 8 . That is, a compact size with a 4.7-inch IPS panel accompanied by pronounced bezels. It has a Home button in which Touch ID is also located.
The main novelty of this device is to have the A15 Bionic chip , which Apple already presented to us last September with the iPhone 13. Therefore, at the level of performance it is equal. It is also noteworthy to say that it has 5G technology identical to those devices, this being another change to highlight compared to the previous version.
Of course, there are doubts about the battery . According to Apple, having the A15 chip has improved autonomy due to the management of this component. However, we fear that there has not really been an increase in it and it remains identical. We will have to see how 5G technology affects this, which always reduces it.
During the presentation, Apple has limited itself to once again emphasizing features that the previous model already had, such as the 12 Mpx main camera or the security and efficiency of iOS 15 as an operating system. Aspects that are very interesting, but that do not really represent a real novelty for this device.
Of course, the price will rise compared to what the current ‘SE’ had, amounting to 529 euros. Reservations open this same Friday, March 11, with market release the following Friday , March 18.
What is already completely ruled out is the idea of seeing the previous iPhone SE at a reduced price, as some speculated. The 2020 model has been discontinued and this is now the absolute protagonist in this entry range of Apple smartphones.
One more thing: green iPhone 13
Actually, before this iPhone SE, Apple introduced a novelty in the iPhone 13, 13 mini, 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max. This purely aesthetic novelty brings to these devices a green color that is very reminiscent of what the iPhone 11 Pro used to have. A strategy similar to that of last year when, around this time, they launched the iPhone 12 in purple.
These devices will be available for reservation next Friday and will be launched on the 18th. Needless to say, they do not implement any other novelty and that their price is the same as that of the rest of the colors and that they remain the same as since the launch last month of September.
