The Boys series has been a huge hit on the Amazon Prime Video content platform. Seeing these curious superheroes as they had never been treated before, with those perversions, vices and dark side, it seems that the public liked it a lot. Well, if you enjoyed watching it, you’re in luck because Amazon is working on something else. Today we tell you everything we know so far about the spin-off of The Boys .
The story behind the Boys spin-off
The story that is told throughout the series of The Boys is one of the most complicated, delicate and morbid that a series has dealt with in recent years. Throughout the 2 seasons that have reached Amazon Prime Video we have seen almost everything: sexual abuse, cold-blooded murders, fraud and a complex and long etcetera.
Without going any further, in season two we could see the criticism that this series made Avengers Endgame or the satire of the Justice League . It is even expected that in the third season Captain America himself will pass through the stone.
But of course, among so much criticism of Marvel and DC superheroes, who or who is missing from this equation? Exactly, the spotlight is on the X-men. The Boys Spin-off will be set in a kind of college / institute where a director who , of course, works for Vought will “rule”.
According to volume 4 of the comics, this character is called John Goldoki n. It is about a man in a suit, straight, who goes to homes and shelters to recruit young people who do not have any talent until they pass through his hands (and they are injected with compound V , how could it be otherwise) . But that’s not the thing, Goldokin is a repressed pedophile who, so to speak, steals these kids from their families by deceiving them and giving them false promises.
In this university dedicated to the creation of superheroes we will see a good handful of hormones loose in its corridors. As they are often described in cartoons, these young men are a wicked bunch of sex addicts. All very much in the style of The Boys.
This is the basis of the story that we will see within the Spin-off. But, as is often the case in this series, they may not fully follow the plot that takes place in the comics.
If they stick to these pages, we could see how, through this school, groups of super groups such as the G-Link or the G-Wiz from the comics are formed. In addition, within that story we would see how Hughie tries to dismantle this Vought prodigy factory from within.
Amazon may have already wanted to throw us a spoiler or small appetizer of this spin-off without us not realizing much. Remember the madhouse where The Boys was auditioned? This will not be the basis on which the story of the new series will unfold, as Vought was testing how Compound V affected adults. But, it is true that we could see the character of Cindy, a girl who could make things explode. There is no reference to her in the comics as such, but we can see Silver Kincaid, a being with similar powers and who makes a direct parody of Phoenix from the X-men.
Trailer and chapters of the spin-off
At the moment, with the series barely starting to shoot, it’s too early to talk about trailers or teasers .
So, this will be a “live” article, that is, we will be attentive to any news that is commented on about the series to, at the moment, update it so you can know all the details.
Cast of the series
As we mentioned, few details we know so far about the production and the cast that will star in this spin-off of the most rogue superheroes on Amazon Prime Video. Even so, from the Deadline media they revealed the first two confirmed members who would take roles in this production.
They are Lizze Broadway , who will play the role of Emma (one of the protagonists), and Jaz Sinclair who will play Marie. Both will be two of the superheroines who train inside this perverted university governed by Vought.
Of course, it is unknown whether or not we will be able to see some of the members of The Boys series itself walking through the spin-off. But, if the writers make the story happen in a similar way to what we can see in the comics, Hughie probably has a relevant role in the plot of this new installment.
Spin-off premiere
As for when we can see this series on Amazon Prime Video, as with the rest of the information about this series, it is still officially unknown.
But, considering that the third season of The Boys and the limitations in filming due to the pandemic must still see the light of day, this series will probably arrive during 2022 .
