DXOMARK, the renowned camera ratings company, has recently released the battery test results of the new Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra . Tech experts tested the device’s battery for range, charge, and efficiency, and the results leave every iPhone to a fool.
The South Korean company carried out the launch of its new top of the range during the beginning of February. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra landed on the market with a wide list of premium features, standing out above the rest its new 200 MP camera. However, the brand’s flagship mobile also has a long battery life and DXOMark experts have carried out an exhaustive analysis on this section.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 has an almost infinite battery
Tech experts put the phone through a variety of tests to measure battery life under different usage conditions, as well as wired and wireless charging efficiency . In addition, the test also included measuring battery performance compared to other high-end mobile phones on the market.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra had an overall score of 142 , placing it sixth on the list behind Honor Magic5 Lite 5G, Honor x7a, Oppo Reno6 6G, Realme GT Neo 2 5G, and Honor x9a. However, the device took first place in DXOMARK’s Ultra-premium ($800+) category.
The current generation phone equips a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip to gain efficiency. In fact, it not only outperformed its predecessor, the Galaxy S22 Ultra, but also every Apple iPhone on the market in platform tests.
The Galaxy S23 Ultra battery life test in DXOMark was performed under different usage conditions. With light use, the device’s battery lasted approximately 67 hours, with less than 2% loss per night on average . When the device was subjected to more intense use, such as streaming videos, the battery life remained at an acceptable level. However, when the battery level reached 5%, it would drop, which could affect the user experience.
A more than remarkable load
As for the 45W fast charging of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, the test results indicate that the device’s wired and wireless charging are average. It takes 1 hour and 21 minutes to charge the phone via cable and 2 hours and 18 minutes to charge wirelessly. However, a simple 5-minute wired charge provides up to 5 hours and 23 minutes of battery life.
The Galaxy S23 Ultra battery test results also indicate that the device was well optimized, with extremely low discharge currents. This translates into higher efficiency and longer battery life. Overall, the DXOMARK battery test revealed that the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra performed admirably.
