Why not update

Check the space
If the update cannot be downloaded, it is most likely due to a disk space problem. The fastest way to get the space we need is to enter the Security App and start the MIUI cleaner. Then we will have to try to download the update again.
It can be the network
If the update package is not downloaded, we must check our Wi-Fi network. For this, it is convenient to carry out some steps, which allow us to rule out other problems:
- Turn off and on the Wi-Fi of our mobile
- Restart the router
- Turn off Wi-Fi and try downloading with mobile data
Now we will have to go back to the update menu and click on the download again to see if the progress bar advances and can be downloaded.
Update not released
You may be with someone who has your same mobile and their mobile has been updated. In this case, far from being a mistake of your terminal, it is due to the batch update process carried out by Xiaomi. It shouldn’t take long for you to receive the update notice, but in the meantime, you may not be able to jump on your device.
Try manual update
If there is no way for the update to be downloaded , we can try to perform the process manually. To do this, we will first have to get the ROM that corresponds to our mobile, which is usually released in the official forums of the company.
Once we have downloaded the file on our mobile, we will have to move it to the downloaded_rom folder that is in the internal memory. Now we just have to go to Settings / About device / System update. In this menu we will click on the contextual menu (three points) at the top right and we will click on “Select update package”. The last step is to select the previously downloaded package, and the mobile will begin to update.
