Fast charging has changed the way we interact with our terminal. Although the autonomy is more or less greater, the fear of running out of battery is better, at least when we know that in a few minutes connected, we can have autonomy for the rest of the day. However, there are a good handful of users reluctant to use this technology, with which they find themselves in their new mobiles that they want to deactivate at all costs. If you are one of them, you are still interested in reading …

Fast charging has been controversial since its inception, because some experiments have shown that it can affect the useful life of batteries in the short and long term. However, it is also true that progress in this technology has been very fast, and today’s terminals integrate security measures that prevent overloads , overheating and other enemies of our mobile. However, many users who are not in a hurry, prefer to use the charge “of a lifetime”.
Can you disable fast mobile charging?
The answer is almost equally yes and no. It’s not as easy to disable fast charging as easily as flipping a switch in the settings menu. Most brands have not enabled this possibility, so we will have to use other alternative methods or tricks so that fast charging has no effect on our mobile.
Samsung is the exception
The Korean company is the only one that allows you to disable fast charging on your mobiles or limit your speed through the different options. Mobile phones with fast charging of the firm such as the Galaxy S, Galaxy Note or Galaxy A family, have this setting. To access we will have to enter Settings / Device Maintenance / Battery / Charging. Once inside this section, we can uncheck the “Ultra-fast charge” and “Fast charge” options to render this technology ineffective and return to standard charging.

On the rest of mobiles
For the rest of Android devices or Apple iPhones with fast charging, we will have to use guerrilla methods to disable this charging capacity.
Change charger or cable
This is a method that works, but it should be done taking into account that all manufacturers without exception recommend using the cable and adapter included in the box . However, if we change these elements to some standard that we have from another older terminal, our terminal will not be able to perform the fast loading process and we will disable the function.

Does it have wireless charging?
If your mobile supports wireless charging, we can use this method, since the charging speed is much lower, being 15W in most cases. However, this technology is also growing at a tremendous rate, becoming more and more equal to the load with the cable. In the event that our mobile does not have this type of charge, we can always do this trick to have wireless charging on any mobile.
Charge the mobile on the PC
This method is ideal for those who handle their PC on a daily basis, since turning it on just to charge the phone does not make much sense. In this case we need the USB cable of our mobile and put it to charge in one of the USB ports of the computer . The load will be done much slower and we can be calm in the event that we are concerned about fast charging.
