It is estimated that as an average data, Spaniards look at the mobile screen about 100 times a day. This data can even go up to 150 times in those under 25 years of age. That means that any glitch that occurs on the screen can be too annoying. This is what happens when our Android starts to blink or we notice this fact excessively , without being able to find an explanation.

Screen flickers are normal, but should be negligible to our eyes. When they become annoying, there may be some kind of mismatch that requires our attention. However, before trying some more in-depth solutions, we should review some critical points that can cause our Android screen to flicker excessively.
- Check that the screen is not cracked, cracked or damaged.
- If we have a case or a screen protector, we must remove it.
- If we are using the screen with gloves we must take them off.
- If there is any sticker on the screen or on the sensors, we must remove it.
- Check that the screen is clean.

How to fix screen flickering
After reviewing each of these points and as long as the problem has not disappeared, we must try one of the following solutions so that the flickering of the screen disappears.
Restart the mobile
We will have to press and hold the power button for at least 30 seconds to force it to restart. When you start again we will check if the flicker has disappeared.
Disable hardware layer updates
This is an option within the developer options that may be causing the error. To check it, we must enter the developer options. If we do not have the option activated we will have to press 7 times on “Compilation number” in “About” in the mobile Settings. Once inside, we go down to the “Hardware rendering acceleration” options and we must make sure that the “See hardware layer updates” and Show GPU updates “options are disabled.

Turn off automatic brightness
If the environment varies a lot or the lighting is irregular, it may be that the automatic brightness activated is causing the failure . To make sure we must slide the quick access bar and deactivate the automatic brightness.
Does it occur in Safe Mode?
A good way to know what is happening is to start our mobile in safe mode . In this way, if the problem does not occur, we will know that a third-party app is interfering with the correct functioning of the screen. In that case we will have to erase the most recent applications.

Enable DC Dimming
There are already several and more and more mobile phones from brands such as Huawei, Xiaomi or OnePlus that integrate the DC Dimming function , which controls the brightness of our mobile like never before to avoid uncomfortable flickering, whether or not they are noticeable. If our mobile has this function we can activate it from the screen settings.
