Facebook made a new integration official, this time the one that affects the messaging systems of Instragam and Facebook Messenger . So, if you want to talk to your friends and contacts on either platform regardless of whether you are on one or the other, this is how you can do it.
The fusion of Instagram and Messenger chat
Facebook has been working for a long time to unify its different messaging systems, both WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and Instagram. Now, after launching some new features such as the new Account Center for better management of connected experiences or the possibility of viewing Instagram stories from Facebook comes the merger of the Instagram and Messenger chat systems.
Thanks to this unification of the messaging systems, users can talk with our contacts from one platform or another without leaving the application we are in, as long as they are those of Instagram and Facebook Messenger. Or what is the same, you could interact with your Messenger contacts while you are using the Instagram app. Simply go to the chat options and reply to new conversations that other users open or select one of the contacts that appear and do it yourself.
Of course it is not a simple integration of the messages, it is the whole system. And that implies that you will have all the usual options in each of them. Thus, both from the Instagram chat and the Facebook Messenger chat you can perform the following actions:
- Chat via text messages
- Make video calls
- Viewing video content from Facebook Watch, Instagram Reels or IGTV at the same time
- Use of temporary messages that disappear after a specified period of time
- Use of stickers (stickers)
- Emojis and reactions, GIFs and animated messages
- Forwarding and replying to messages individually in group chats

How to unify the chats of Instagram and Messenger

- Click on the Settings option
- Access the Privacy settings
- Now go to Messages
- Deactivate the option to receive new messages from Instagram or Facebook Messenger depending on the application
You will also have other additional options to have better control over your privacy, allowing only friends or people with whom they have talked on any of the platforms to contact you.
