After appearing briefly by surprise in the Xbox store, EA has officially presented its next Star Wars game, Star Wars: Squadrons , a spectacular title that will allow us to put ourselves in the shoes of a pilot of the resistance or the empire and Live battles at full speed from our favorite fighter. The best? It will arrive this year, and we will not have to wait for the new consoles to get hold of it.
Fly at the speed of light, young Padawan
This new game set in the Star Wars universe has wanted to get away from the first person shooter genre that we have enjoyed so much in Battlefront to jump into another very successful one years ago, that of flight simulators. Star Wars: Squadrons will offer a completely immersive experience, especially on PS4 and PC, where we will enjoy compatibility with virtual reality, so we can enter the cabin of our starfighter equipped with PlayStation VR, for example.
Although there are still some details to announce, we already know that the game will offer several game modes:
- Fighting: A 5 vs 5 combat in which we will have to demonstrate which squad is the strongest.
- Fleet Battles: Again, 5 vs. 5 with the sole objective of destroying the rival team’s flagship.
- Campaign: After the Rebel Alliance destroyed the second death star in the Battle of Endor, the player will have to complete various missions putting himself in the shoes of two pilots who are part of both sides. One will serve in the Vanguard Squadron of the New Republic and one will serve in the Titan Squadron of the Galactic Empire.
When can we play it?
The game will be available starting October 2 , and will hit PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Virtual reality modes will be available on PS4 and PC, and all platforms will be able to play each other thanks to Cross-Play support, something EA is showing more and more interest in (remember that the next Need for Speed will also offer Cross -play).
The game can now be reserved in physical and digital through the authorized distributors with a price of 39.99 euros, at the same time that subscribers of EA Access and Origin Access Basic will be able to play for 10 hours with early access, while those With Access Premium (on PC), they will always receive the full game as long as they keep the subscription.
