There are many settings that our television has to configure all kinds of menus… We can configure channels, broadcast, image and access the configuration in any model and any brand. But there are also a series of secret menus on a Smart TV or a hidden menu that we can enter to configure other aspects of the television and that is not visible to everyone to prevent users from inadvertently modifying any of the television’s irreversible settings.
Most televisions allow us to access these secret menus, although normally it is not enough to press the button on the remote, but rather we must type a specific code that will take us here. Of course, we must bear in mind that if we modify something from these menus and damage the television, the guarantee will not cover what we have done and we may have to assume the repair… That is why it will be better to avoid these codes if you do not have sufficient knowledge to use them.

Samsung secret menu
Our Samsung Smart TVs hide more secrets than we think. You may have navigated through the configuration menus on many occasions, but perhaps you did not know that there are also a series of hidden menus for users that can be accessed by pressing a series of keys on our remote control.
These menus are really created for technicians and manufacturer personnel, but they can be very useful in case you want to make any changes. Taking this into account, we recommend using them with caution and always at your own risk. A wrong step could make you lose the functionality of the HDMI, change the configuration in which the backlight of the panel works, or disable vital sensors for the perfect operation of the equipment.
Secret codes
Taking into account the large number of different models, there is no single universal code that works for all Samsung Smart TVs. If we talk about those that have the Tizen OS operating system installed, these are some of the ones that usually work the most to access those hidden additional configuration menus.
You will only need a remote control, although the Samsung Smart Remote is not valid, since we will have to access the menu through a combination of buttons that are not available on this remote. In fact, even a universal remote could do the trick, and you don’t need a special one.
These are the combinations of keys that you have to press.
- (Tv on) Mute + 1 + 1 + 9 + Enter
- (TV off) Display/Info + P.STD + Mute + Power
- (TV off) P.STD + Help + Sleep + Power
- (TV off) P.STD + Menu + Sleep + Power
- (TV off) Sleep + P.STD + Mute + Power
- (TV off) Display/Info + Menu + Mute + Power
- (Tv off) Display/Info + P.STD + Mute + Power
- (Tv off) P.STD + Help + Sleep + Power
- (Tv off) P.STD + Menu + Sleep + Power
- (Tv off) Sleep + P.STD + Mute + Power
Once the blue menu is open and located in the upper left part of the screen, you will be able to move through it with the controller without problems. The center to select what you want and the arrows to guide you.
Samsung Hidden Menu Features
Of course, access to this menu will allow you to activate or deactivate some functions that until now were not within our reach. We recommend that before making any changes to the settings in this menu, you make a note of the changes so that you can revert them in case something goes wrong.
TheBlogDeLazaro@ElBlogDeLazaroNow that I have a while I am going to activate the bluetooth of the Samsung Smart TV to be able to connect my headphones, which by default is deactivated even though I have paid for the bluetooth, you have to enter a hidden menu using a combination of keys on the remote 😡😡 https://t.co/KxAabmKgGxAugust 10, 2018 • 19:329

It is rare that this menu is going to serve to notice big changes with respect to the state in which it is marketed. For example, Bluetooth can be activated in cases where it is disabled by default and thus be able to listen to television through wireless headphones, or adjust the white balance at the screen level. Most likely, performing a factory format in case of an issue is the only really real utility if something isn’t going right.
Other somewhat less useful options for the consumer may be to activate the hotel mode or block the channel guide, check the total hours of use of the device, modify advanced settings such as the maximum audio level of the speakers, or carry out tests with own diagnostic tools.
Once you are inside the menu, you will only have to press and hold the Power button on the remote to completely turn off the television. When you press the power button again, the TV will boot up as usual in its normal state.
LG hidden menu
All LG TVs have a fairly similar process for accessing this hidden menu, but there are so many different models that obviously the process can differ a bit from one another. It is always recommended that we use the remote that comes included with the television for the process, but you should not have any problems if you have a universal remote. The first step we must do is select the «Input» button to change the image input that we have selected and choose «TV» .
Activate the menu
The most common way and that usually works in most cases is to press and hold the OK button on the remote control for a few seconds . Depending on the model of our controller, this button may be replaced by another such as “Settings” or “Home”. We will know if we have done it correctly if a window appears in the upper left part of the screen that asks us for a 4-digit code. This code is usually “0000” by default , but if it does not work for you we recommend that you try the following:
- 0000
- 7777
- 0413
- 8741
- 8878
- 8743
- 1147
- 2008
- 1234
- 2200
- 1111
- 0110
When entering the correct code , the secret menu of our LG Smart TV will appear on the screen . To move around it we will only have to use our remote control just as we would to move around the normal menus.
Hidden Menu Features
This menu can be a bit overwhelming for anyone who does not have much knowledge, and for this reason we advise you to be very careful when handling it. It is true that it can give us very useful information, such as the number of hours it has been on, or it can also make a diagnosis of the sections that we have connected by HDMI to the screen.
One of the most sought after features to access this hidden menu is to disable the ASBL. This technology is designed so that our Smart TVs last longer and consume less energy, since it is activated when the screen has been on for longer than expected with brightness levels above those recommended.

As a curiosity, through this hidden menu we also have access to what is known as “Hotel Mode” , intended for televisions that are used in this type of establishment to limit the access that guests have. Of course, through this mode we can also factory reset the device if necessary, although if we do so we will lose any previous configuration that we have made.
Other TVs
In addition to Samsung or LG, two of the most common brands, there are other options if we want to access the secret menu on a Sony television or a Xiaomi television, for example.
On Xiaomi TV
If we have a Xiaomi brand television, we can access the secret menu or what is considered “options for developers” that we will see in the Android TV operating system that we find in many other televisions or devices to make the TV smart.
To access we do not have to use any combination of keys here but we go to the different menus and settings to access these options that we can unlock…
First, you access “Device Preferences” and tap on ” Information “. Once here, we have to use the remote to tap five times on the “Compilation” menu and the developer options will appear on the screen. Here we will see a series of settings such as error reporting or image color mode, for example. But the first one that appears to us is “Factory Menu”. Touch here and we already access the secret menu of the television.
On Sony brand TVs
Also with Sony we can access the secret menu on a Sony television, although the steps are somewhat more complex than in the case of accessing from the Xiaomi. Here we have to use a series of key combinations on the command . And, in addition, you must bear in mind that the television must be turned off at the time you do it if you want this trick to work and that we access the expected menu.
The combination is as follows: we touch the Display button and simultaneously touch the number five key, the volume up button and the power button. This will take us to the service menu and we can use the controls on the remote, and the numbers on it, to scroll through the settings.
