Many Apple users say that what they miss most when leaving Apple’s ecosystem is AirDrop. Apple’s proprietary system to transmit files between company products. Snapdrop The alternative to AirDrop
To access Snapdrop is as easy as accessing the official website ( snapdrop.net ), both on your computer and on your mobile phone. It is important that both are connected to the same network, otherwise they will not detect each other.
When they see each other, you will see the name of the operating system of your computer or mobile phone and the browser being used. You will see it on both sides. If you want to send something from your mobile you just need to tap on the computer symbol and an action selector will open. Click on Files and our default file manager will open.
There we look for the file we want, in this case a photo. It automatically starts shipping. A circle will be created around the symbol of our computer as an indicator of progress. Once the circle is complete the image will have been sent correctly to our computer.
When the progress bar is finished and the file has been sent to our other device we will receive a notice on our computer, which will allow us to download the file or simply ignore the file and cancel it. We can see what name the file has and its format extension. If we click on download, it will be done, the file will be downloaded to our computer and saved in Downloads (if we have it configured this way).
