There are many problems that OxygenOS 11 has been posing to OnePlus users since the update began to arrive. Although we are on the verge of being able to enjoy OxygenOS 12 in several models, the last version continues to leave us tail with bugs that had not been suffered in such an outstanding way.
These have to do with draining the battery, causing users to have detected excessive energy consumption from one day to the next. Without having applied any changes, the system seems to have gone crazy, and even with the smartphone idle at night it runs out of battery much sooner.
What is happening?
We have to go back weeks, when the OnePlus Nord were the first models to be affected by this battery failure in OxygenOS 11 . The version of the brand’s own software began to cause users to stop getting through the day easily from one day to the next and, especially at night, to start drinking battery as if it were being used.
In the OnePlus forums and on other platforms such as Reddit, many messages have been seen trying to find a solution to the failure. However, the brand itself has not yet given an answer in this regard. But things have unfortunately gotten worse, because now other smartphones like the OnePlus 7, OnePlus 8 and even the OnePlus 9 suffer from this same problem. Users find that after all night, the battery drops by up to 15%, even with airplane mode activated.
The security patches do not seem to have sat down well with the smartphones and we are confident that a change will be made soon that will prevent the battery from deteriorating further.
There is a way to fix it
According to some comments the problem can be avoided or at least reduced its effects if we make the smartphone clean. This is something usually recommended by OnePlus’ own technical service when after updating the OxygenOS system it does not respond as it should, be it a patch or a major update. In case you are one of those affected, you must trust at least a few days that the problem will resolve itself, since the system could be learning from our uses again or be a specific case. If after that time, everything remains the same, we must correct it with this method.
It is a process that does not delete files and photos, although a simple error could make it so, so before putting it to the test we recommend moving those important elements that we do not want to lose to another device. Then we just have to follow this procedure:
- We start by turning off the mobile.
- Next we press the volume down and power buttons until we see the OnePlus logo.
- We select the English language.
- We touch on the wipe data and cache option.
- Next we choose wipe cache.
- We played on Yes.
- And finally we select reboot .
With this quick process all error logs, system cache items, and possible causes of the problem should be flushed out. We will have to do an exhaustive follow-up to see if this situation continues or has been resolved.
