Instagram Direct allows you to send messages to one or more people. We can send the following items as a message on Instagram Direct :
- Photos or videos that you take or upload from your library
- Publications you see in the feed
- Temporary photos and videos
- Profiles
- Text
- Hashtags
- Locations
If it is from a person we follow, we will receive a notification . If it is someone you do not follow, it sends you a message, it will appear as a request in the inbox. To reject or allow the message, swipe left over the message (on iOS), or touch and hold the message (on Android) and select Delete or OK.

- Enter your phone, username or email next to the password; or Login with Facebook
- If you have activated the 2-step verification, enter the code
- Click on the Instagram DM icon in the upper right area
- Click on send message, select contact and write text or image
How to receive and read DMs from Instagram online
In the same way, we can receive the messages and read them the Instagram DM from the computer. The process is practically the same:

- If you have activated the 2-step verification, enter the code
- Click on the Instagram DM icon in the upper right area
- Check the conversations in the left area, just below the word Direct.
- Both the icon in the top bar and the conversation will show us that we have messages pending reading.
In both cases, if you want to access directly, you can do so through https://www.instagram.com/direct/inbox/ . That URL will open your inbox for private messages from the social network.
