Samsung‘s Summer Unpacked conference has become one of the most important events in August for years, being used by the firm to present its best phones of the moment, the Galaxy Note. It seems that in 2021, after a long time hearing rumors of them, we will not have a Galaxy Note 21.
While at the end of last August we were able to discover the Galaxy Note 20, the Galaxy Watch 3, the Galaxy Tab S7, the Galaxy Buds Live and the Galaxy Z Fold 2, it seems that this year, at least the Note 21, falls from the presentation. It is not that we say it, it is that the brand itself affirms it in the announcement of the event.
Will we not have a new Galaxy Note?
The Unpacked conference of the firm is held in two weeks and Samsung has been in charge of anticipating what we are going to see on August 11. The terminals that will catch all eyes will be the manufacturer’s new folding devices, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 (Samsung skips number 2), in addition to the Galaxy Watch 4 with Wear OS 3.
It is to be imagined that new products such as headphones or other devices will also be launched, but what there will not be is a new Galaxy Note 21 . This is confirmed by the head of the brand’s mobility division, TM Roh, announcing that the presence of the next iterations of the Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold are safe, while admitting that there will not be a Galaxy Note this year .
Of course, we cannot say 100% that the company has “killed” the family, since it is likely that in January, or later, new models of the family would be put on the market, and even a hypothetical successor to the Galaxy Note 20 FE.
The era of folding
The manager thus confirms the rumors that have been associated with the brand for some time and its abandonment of the Note 21 family due to the great similarity that now exists with the S21 family, with compatibility (in the case of the Ultra model) with the S -Pen that characterized the Note range. Let us also remember that, this same month of March, the CEO of Samsung Electronics questioned the arrival of the Galaxy Note 21 .
TM Roh also took the opportunity to announce that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be accompanied, precisely, by this S-Pen, but with a model developed specifically for smartphones with a flexible screen.
Now it remains to be seen if the series will return later or if, as everything seems to point, we will never again enjoy one of the best Samsung phones.
