Samsung Smart TV PIN Code: Default, Change, and Restore

When configuring or making adjustments to your Samsung Smart TV, you might encounter a request for a PIN code. This PIN code serves as a specific password necessary for tasks such as factory resetting the TV or accessing settings and configurations for making changes. If you’re unsure about this PIN code, here’s what you need to know about the default code, how to change it, or how to reset it to its original state if you’ve forgotten it.

Default PIN Code: 0000

The default PIN code for Samsung TVs is universally set to 0000. This means that if your TV asks for a PIN code, especially if you’ve restored or factory reset it, you can simply enter these four zeros to proceed. While there might be exceptions, the brand assures that 0000 is the default code for all Samsung models.

However, it’s possible that your television doesn’t follow this default, either because it’s second-hand or has undergone some alterations. In such cases, you’ll need to determine the correct code.

Changing the PIN Code

If you wish to keep the default code as 0000 for ease of recall, you can do so. Alternatively, you can change it to enhance the privacy of your television or reset it if you’ve forgotten the current code and want to restore it to the default. Here are the steps to change the PIN code:

  1. Access the TV settings using your remote control.
  2. Navigate to the “System Administrator” option within the settings.
  3. Scroll to the end of the settings to find the “Change PIN” section.
  4. Enter the current PIN code (0000).
  5. Input the new PIN code.
  6. Confirm the new PIN code by entering it again.
  7. Select “Accept.”

Once completed, your PIN code will be changed, and you can start using the newly entered code. A message on the screen will confirm that “The PIN has been changed successfully.” You can repeat this process whenever you wish to modify the PIN code.

How to Restore the PIN Code

If you had previously set a PIN code but have now forgotten it, you can easily revert it to 0000 by pressing specific buttons on your television remote. Follow these steps:

  1. Simultaneously press the MUTE + 8 + 2 + 4 + POWER buttons on your remote. (In other words, press the mute button, followed by the numbers 8, 2, and 4, and finally, the power button—all at the same time.)

This action will automatically reset the PIN code of your Smart TV to 0000. After this, you can follow the earlier steps to modify it and choose a new one.

Note: If you have a different remote control, the steps may vary, but the concept remains the same. You’ll generally need to navigate through the TV’s settings to reset the PIN code to 0000. Consult Samsung’s specific instructions for your remote model if necessary.
