Does your Samsung phone show “Webpage not available” after One UI 9? The account page may also display net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED, blocking setup.

A Samsung account moderator’s reply, updated October 22, 2026, identifies unstable system WebView on some networks. Here is how to try the recommended workarounds, depending on what you can open.

Start with the steps you can actually access

What is happening?Start here
Setup responds, but the account page will not loadReturn to the Wi-Fi screen if possible, then try the browser sign-in steps below.
You can open Settings and the Play StoreCheck for WebView and Chrome updates.
The screen does not respond to tapsUse the restart instructions below before trying to continue.

You do not need to repeat a step that is unavailable. For example, a Play Store update is not immediately possible if the setup screen prevents you from opening apps.

If setup is blocked, try a Wi-Fi connection

Samsung recommends switching from mobile data to Wi-Fi. If setup lets you go back, return to network selection and connect to a Wi-Fi network you trust.

If you can reach the home screen, the usual route is Settings → Connections → Wi-Fi. Choose your network, enter its password, and wait for the connection. Samsung’s Wi-Fi connection guide explains the menus; their appearance can vary by model.

Then return to setup and try the account page again. If your phone cannot connect to Wi-Fi at all, our guide to Wi-Fi problems on Samsung phones covers that separate issue.

Try your Samsung account in a browser

If the account screen still blocks setup, use a computer, tablet, or another working phone. Samsung’s account management guide confirms that you can sign in through a web browser.

  1. Open the official Samsung account website.
  2. Sign in with the same account you use on the affected phone.
  3. Complete any verification checks. If updated terms appear, read them and make your choice.
  4. Return to your phone and retry the account screen.

If the browser instead rejects your password or you cannot receive a verification code, follow Samsung’s account sign-in troubleshooting. That is a different problem from a webpage failing to load. Avoid removing the account from your phone simply to test this fix.

If you can open apps, update WebView and Chrome

Android System WebView is a Google component that lets apps show web pages inside their own screens. You may use it without ever opening an app called WebView.

To check available updates, use Google’s Play Store update steps:

  1. Open the Play Store and tap your profile picture.
  2. Choose Manage apps & device.
  3. Open the list of available updates.
  4. Update Android System WebView and Google Chrome if either is listed.
  5. After installation finishes, restart the phone and retry the account page.

Cannot find WebView? Check for a Chrome update. If neither app offers one, continue with the connection and account checks. Use the regular Play Store releases.

If the phone is completely frozen, restart it

A webpage error can leave the phone responding to buttons even when setup cannot continue. A frozen screen is different: taps and normal navigation do nothing.

For an unresponsive Galaxy phone, Samsung’s forced restart instructions say to hold the Side/Power button and Volume Down together for more than seven seconds. Release them when the phone restarts.

A restart is not a factory reset. After the phone starts again, check whether you can return to the network or account screen. Do not interrupt a screen that clearly says a software installation is still in progress.

Still stuck? Give Samsung the exact details

Contact Samsung Support in your region if the same screen keeps returning. Have these details ready:

  • Your Galaxy model and the update you installed.
  • The exact error text and a photo of the screen.
  • Whether setup buttons respond and whether you can open Settings.
  • Whether Wi-Fi, browser sign-in, and available app updates changed anything.

Hide account details and any long token in the page address before sharing a screenshot publicly. Our guide to checking unfamiliar links also explains why it helps to check the destination before opening an account link.

Tell support that the error began after One UI 9 and that you have already tried the relevant steps. Ask for advice for your exact model before considering a factory reset, which would erase locally stored data.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my Samsung phone say “Webpage not available” after One UI 9?

Samsung links this particular account-screen problem to system WebView on some networks.

What if I cannot open the Play Store?

Use the setup options still available to you, such as returning to its Wi-Fi screen. You can also try signing in to the same Samsung account from another device, then retry setup.

What if Android System WebView has no Update button?

The Play Store shows an Update button when an update is available to your device. Check Chrome as well. WebView may not appear as a separate app on every software setup.

Will a forced restart delete my photos?

A forced restart reboots the phone; it does not perform a factory reset. Unsaved work may be lost. Use it for an unresponsive screen and let any active software installation finish first.

Does this error mean my Samsung account has been deleted?

A page-loading error alone does not establish that. Try the official account website to check access. Use Samsung’s account recovery guidance if you cannot sign in there either.

Has Samsung released a permanent fix?

The October 22 reply gives workarounds, without naming a universal firmware fix. Check the updates available for your model.
