Samsung Monitors for PS5 and Xbox Series X with HDMI 2.1

Samsung Monitors for PS5 and Xbox Series X with HDMI 2.1

Samsung has presented its new range of Odyssey monitors, and among those presented, there is a particularly interesting model that will attract the attention of those who are looking for a screen to connect to a computer and with which they can also play with a new generation console, like you can be PS5 or Xbox Series X. But what exactly does the Odyssey G7 offer ?

The perfect monitor for PS5?

Samsung Odyssey

With a generous 28-inch size, Samsung’s new Odyssey G7 G70A boasts a 4K resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels with a maximum frequency of 144 Hz. However, the most interesting detail that we can find in its list of specifications is It has two HDMI 2.1 inputs with which to reach 120 Hz in 4K with the new consoles.

Thanks to the connection, we will be able to reach the desired rate of 120 images per second while we play in 4K resolution, one of the star features of the new consoles and that require a modern monitor or TV to be able to take full advantage of it.

Why is it perfect to play?

Its characteristics are oriented to offer the best performance to gamers, so that we enjoy the best image quality without forgetting the performance. Thus, we can find details such as the following:

  • 400 cd / m2 maximum brightness
  • HDR 400
  • 1 ms gray to gray response time
  • 144 Hz maximum refresh
  • FreeSync Premium Pro and G-SYNC compatible
  • Low Input Lag mode

With this presentation load, the screen is placed as a candidate for one of our favorite monitors to play and work, since it has all the characteristics that we could ask for a screen of its kind. A couple more inches to enjoy the image more? It can, however, this would make the final price of the product quite expensive, so it is better to leave it at that.

More models for the Odyssey range

In addition to this Odyssey G7, the range of monitors is completed with the G5 and G3 models, in the same way that it happened in the previous generation. These models will be 27 and 27 or 24 inches respectively, and their characteristics will be progressively reduced compared to the flagship, with resolutions of 2560 x 1440 pixels and 1920 x 1080 pixels respectively.

When can we buy the new models?

This new generation Odyssey will be available soon, however, Samsung has not been able to give us a price and launch date at the moment, so we will have to wait a little longer until we definitely have doubts. If we take a look at last year’s models, the G7 was priced at around 650 euros, so more or less we expect to receive that amount (perhaps somewhat higher due to the increase in inches and resolution of the panel).
