Samsung Galaxy S22: Possible Design of Its Hidden front Camera

Virtually all brands of smartphones have between eyebrows and offer a real and definitive design of all screens. The wide bezels of yesteryear were replaced by the notch, though we’ve seen pop-up front camera designs as well. However, the future seems to pass through the front cameras hidden in the screen, as we have already seen on the ZTE Axon 20 5G. However, now we can see Samsung‘s plans in this regard, and that could see the light of day in the future Galaxy S22.

Samsung Galaxy S22: Possible Design

The leaks have been tasked with gutting the design of the upcoming Galaxy S21 series. For this reason we know that the next Samsung flagships will arrive with the same screen with a hole of their predecessors. Therefore, we must look at the Galaxy S22 , a model that could already make the leap to the hidden front camera system.

Hidden camera with unique design

Once again, a Samsung patent filed with the WIPO (World Intellectual Property Office) and collected by LetsGoDigital, puts us on the trail of what Samsung could be developing. What we see is an unprecedented design so far to be able to have an invisible front camera, thanks to an ingenious dual screen system. The terminal, shown without frames, has a screen with transparent sand on top, while a second “sub-screen” is located below the transparent area. Underneath is a dual camera and an LED flash.

The first camera is intended for biometric identification, so in addition to the classic facial unlocking, it could have an iris scanner. The second sensor is the one for photos and videos. The subscreen can be mechanically moved up and down as a kind of internal pop-up screen. When the secondary display is below the transparent area, the terminal will display an all-screen layout and can display content, such as battery status or time, as well as other useful notifications for the user.

On the contrary, when this second screen is not below the transparent area, the camera system will appear. This way there will be no obstacles to taking high quality photos and videos. This system solves many of the problems that are attributed to the hidden camera system under the screen, and that have been a headache for the manufacturers behind this concept.

Also with S-Pen

Something curious is that the terminal integrates an activation function of this system together with the power button, although it can also be activated by touching the area with your finger , by means of two touches or a sliding gesture. In addition, the patent reveals that this terminal will be compatible with the S Pen, making it clear once again that this accessory will become part of the Galaxy S family, starting with the Galaxy S21 Ultra that we will see next January.
