We have been hearing about the Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition, or Galaxy S20 Lite, as it is also known for months. We are facing a new member of the Galaxy S20 family, which will be presented more than 8 months after its brothers and that is called to be one of the most important bets of the firm to end 2020. Now, Samsung has set the official date of his presentation.
Last year, Samsung surprised locals and strangers with the launch of the Galaxy S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite. These “light” versions are intended to serve as a bridge between the great features of the flagships, and the pockets of users who are not willing to reach the cost of the most powerful high-end of the Korean firm. In this way, Samsung has announced the official presentation date of the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition, banishing the “Lite” label from last year, which may be somewhat decaffeinated and unfair, taking into account that we are talking about a high-end terminal.
Comes next week
The date set by Samsung is September 23, that is, Wednesday of next week. The Korean company has released one of its traditional “teasers” in which all its fans are invited to be attentive to the new Unpacked, which will take place at an online event at 4:00 pm Spanish peninsular time. In the small video shared by the Korean firm, we can see the shape of two smartphones, whose colors match those previously filtered from this new device.
What we know so far
It was the SamMobile medium, which revealed the existence of the device three months ago, also reporting some of its possible technical features, along with other leaks that have shaped the device. The terminal is expected to be launched with a Snapdragon 865 or Exynos 990 processor depending on the region and will have a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED screen with FullHD + resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz, with Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
Among the various previous leaks, we have also known that it will arrive with a triple rear camera with 12 + 12 + 8 megapixel sensors and a 32 megapixel selfie sensor. It is expected to arrive with Android 10 and the OneUI 2.5 layer, as well as a 4,500 mAh battery. The terminal is expected to be launched at a price of around 750 euros. We will get rid of any doubt within 9 days, although we are sure that the leaks will continue to do their thing until the day of the presentation.
