Although Samsung‘s portfolio is not as exaggeratedly broad as Xiaomi‘s, the Koreans have moved token to fight the Chinese manufacturer, making up a large family of terminals with a good quality / price ratio. The Galaxy A series has left us some of the best selling phones of 2019. Sometimes the user does not have it easy to choose between one model or another. That is why today we wanted to compare the Samsung Galaxy A20e with its brother the Galaxy A40.
Keep in mind that one terminal is one step above the other, and that the technical differences are clear. However, the user will have to weigh if they are sufficient to meet their needs, since it may not be necessary to spend more than the account.

The difference of the screens
If we look at the screens, we see a similar size between both devices with 5.8 and 5.9 inches, but the Galaxy A40 has FullHD + resolution, while the A20e stays in HD +. Both terminals have a practically traced weight, unlike a gram in favor of the Galaxy A40, however, the Galaxy A20e is somewhat thicker with its 8.3 millimeters compared to the 7.9 millimeters of the Galaxy A40.
Memory and storage
If we take a look at the processor, RAM and storage memory, we quickly appreciate that step above the Galaxy A40. The terminal has 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of internal memory and an Exynos 7904. For its part, the Galaxy A20e has 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal memory and an Exynos 7884.
It is clear that for a more demanding user, the A40 will perform better, being a faster terminal and resulting in multitasking. Interestingly, both terminals look the same graphic GPU , a Mali-G71 MP2 chip, so unlike what it might seem, the two teams will perform similarly with many of the most popular games on the market.
Double cameras
In the cameras section we find a double rear configuration in the two mobiles. In the case of the Galaxy A20e we find two sensors of 13 + 5 megapixels, and 16 + 5 megapixels in the Galaxy A40. In selfie cameras we see a huge difference, being 5 megapixels in the A20e and 25 megapixels in the Galaxy A40.
The two terminals move with Samsung’s OneUI layer, and have been chosen to upgrade to Android 10. We see that both have the main wireless connections and that their batteries reach 3,000 mAh, being 3,100 mAh on the Galaxy A40. Both have a 15W fast charge.
And the prices?
When we stop at prices, we see that the Galxay A20e can be purchased right now for about 150 euros. The Galaxy A40 for its part is closer to 200 euros. Those 50 euros of difference between the two must be taken into consideration, since if the user is going to make a very moderate use of the terminal, it is possible that with the Galaxy A20e it has more than enough. However, if the budget is not a problem, the Galaxy A40 has plenty of arguments to claim its position and be chosen by a large majority.
