The contacts of our mobile are the cornerstone of many of its functions. Having them stored we can identify them in many applications such as messaging applications or in the phone’s own contacts app to make calls. However, the place where it is stored is very important, in order to recover them in the future or to locate them when we change our mobile. Samsung mobiles allow us to “predetermine” where contacts will be saved depending on our preferences.

Our contacts should concern us enough to know exactly where they are being stored. It is the best way to avoid surprises, since many times they get lost along the way when changing mobile phones, something very common. In the Samsung Galaxy it is very easy to predetermine where we want the new contacts to be saved , but the option could go unnoticed by many users.
Modify the default location
Manage contacts
In order to change this location, we will have to slide a finger up or down to access all the applications. Then we will have to enter the contacts app and click on the context menu (the three horizontal stripes on the left). Within the options that appear, we will click on “Manage Contacts”. Before continuing, it is important to remember that it is on this screen that we can also select where the contacts are displayed from. Most often, the option is checked in “All contacts” to see all of them, regardless of where they are stored.

Select another location
Now we will see all the available options to manage the contacts, but we will touch on the one that interests us which is “Default location”. Once inside we will see the possibilities available. If we haven’t touched anything, the contacts may be being stored in the phone’s internal memory . This limits the possibilities when recovering them in the event of an accident, since they would be stored only in the terminal, so in the event of loss, theft or severe damage to the mobile, we could easily lose them.

If there is “cloud” better
In this sense, we can derive the default storage of our contacts to more secure accounts, be it the “Samsung Account” that we have created in our Galaxy, or the Google account itself. In this way, the contacts will be equally visible on our mobile, but will be stored in the cloud of these accounts to retrieve them whenever we need it or when we change our mobile.
